I would like to share my heartfelt thanks to everyone that
participated in this year's Ride of Silence - Harbor Springs as a way
to honor cyclists that have been killed or injured while riding on
public roadways and to make everyone aware that we just want to share
the road with motorists. To the 63 riders that attended and rode in
the event, your growing number and presence makes a clear statement
that bicycles of all shapes and sizes want to share the road. To the
Harbor Springs Police Department and the Emmet County Sheriff's
Department for your continued support of our cause and to Officer Josh
Johnson of the HSPD and Deputy Wade Leist for vehicle escort and
traffic control of the ride. To all of our supporting businesses and
individuals that generously donated funds so that we could provide no-
cost T-shirts for all of our riders. To the countless volunteers that
helped in ways too numerous to list. To my Ride of Silence - HS
committee that helped in making this year's ride the most successful
to date. To the Michigan organizers for keeping us motivated and on
task. And to Chris Phelan, Founder of the Ride of Silence. This 100%
volunteer event could not have been done without your tireless
efforts. I Thank you!
