In just 2 days, I ask that you join me for the Ride of Silence. Meet downtown Harbor Springs at the HS Harbormaster parking lot at 6:30 for sign-in and pre-ride instructions. At 7:00pm we will join cyclists in a worldwide event that, in 2013, took place in 372 locations, all 50 states and 26 countries around the globe. A unique event:

To honor cyclists, like myself, that have been injured or killed
To RAISE AWARENESS that we are here
To ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD

The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride. There are no sponsors and no registration fees. The ride, which is held during National Bike Month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for and honor the lives of those who have been killed or injured.

The ride will be along the streets and roads in and around Harbor Springs, is approximately 8 miles in length and will last just under 1 hour. This event is open to anyone with a bike and helmet so please encourage any and all to join us. If you're unable to join us in Harbor, please see if there is a ride closer to you, I know there is an event in Boyne City that meets at Veteran's Park at 6:30, others can be found at the RoS website.

Thank you and I hope to see you this Wednesday,
