The Miami Marlins' home opener against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night has been canceled after at least 12 Marlins players and two coaches reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus, and, as a result of this outbreak, not only is Miami's season very much in peril, the entire 2020 Major League Baseball campaign now hangs in the balance.

On Sunday, four Marlins players tested positive for Covid-19, and two infectious-disease specialists told The Athletic that those four positive tests fit the definition of a "clear outbreak" of the virus within their team.

Pundits are questioning Miami's decision to play Sunday afternoon, as the MLB league office and the Marlins reportedly felt the four positive tests were "not enough" to give "serious consideration to postponing this game."

Other pro sports leagues in the U.S., such as the National Basketball Association and Major League Soccer, seem to have successfully shielded their players from the virus thus far. Last Monday, the NBA announced that none of the league's 346 players had tested positive for the coronavirus over the previous seven days. However, the NBA players have been confined to the league's bubble campus in Orlando, which dramatically reduces the chances of infections spreading.

No Phillies players or staff have tested positive for the coronavirus despite playing the Marlins in Philadelphia and seeing 17 members of the Miami traveling party test positive, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

A member of the Philadelphia visiting clubhouse personnel did test positive, however, sources told ESPN's Marly Rivera. This positive test result was collected as part of a previous round of testing, not the recent one which reflected no positive results.

It is the second consecutive matchup between the clubs that has been postponed after 13 members of the Marlins' traveling party tested positive for the coronavirus. On Tuesday, sources said that another four Marlins tested positive.

The Marlins received positive test results for four additional players Tuesday, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press. The person declined to be identified because the results had not been publicly released.

The Miami Marlins canceled their home opener against the Baltimore Orioles scheduled for Monday night after multiple members of the team tested positive for the coronavirus, according to sources who told ESPN.

On Sunday, eight Marlins players and two coaches tested positive, sources told ESPN, after four other players had recently tested positive. The Marlins are in self-quarantine in Philadelphia, according Jeter's statement.

Under the MLB's health guidelines, players who test positive for the coronavirus will be isolated from the team until they test negative twice at least 24 hours apart, show no symptoms for 72 hours and receive approval from team doctors.

Approved Test Centres agree to maintain minimum testing standards as agreed with the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA). Under the Merchant Shipping Regulations (1977), officers serving on UK merchant ships are required to hold a UK certificate of competency or UK Certificate of Equivalent Competency.

Miami-Dade County, in cooperation with the Florida National Guard, the City of Miami, Jackson Health System and the Miami Marlins, has opened a COVID-19 testing center on the west side of Marlins Park, 501 Marlins Way, Miami.

The drive-through testing center is designated for testing of Miami-Dade County residents aged 65 or older, and testing is by appointment only. Those interested in getting tested should dial 305-499-8767 to reach the call center, where they will be pre-screened for symptoms.

Staff on site can only test those with appointments. All others will be turned away. The senior citizen being tested may arrive at the drive-through location with only one other person in the car, and that person will also be tested, so as to make sure there has been no spread of the virus.

(CBSMiami)- The Miami Marlins have a COVID-19 outbreak on their hands. On Monday, it was reported that, in addition to the four players who returned positive results over the weekend, several more players and staff members tested positive. Now, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, four more Marlins players have learned of positive test results.

That would bring the total number of player cases to 15 based on the reporting that has come out over the last two days. Rosenthal goes on to report that the team remains in Philadelphia and that one of the members of the team who tested positive previously has now had a negative result. But, that person would need another negative test result at least 24 hours apart in order to become eligible to return.

The 15 positive cases would mark exactly half of the team's 30-man roster has now tested positive for the virus. That leaves questions about how the team can expect to put together a full roster, even with the 60-player pool, in time to return to action. The league has made no decisions about whether the Marlins will return to play Wednesday night in Baltimore as of this writing.

Just days into Major League Baseball's 2020 season, one team has already experienced a coronavirus outbreak that has caused multiple games to be postponed. On Friday, the Miami Marlins COVID-19 outbreak grew again as another player tested positive for the coronavirus, per Daniel Alvarez Montes. The Marlins are now up to at least 20 reported positive cases of COVID-19 between players and coaches who traveled with the team since Opening Day, including 18 total players testing positive.

The Philadelphia Phillies, who hosted the Marlins over the weekend at Citizens Bank Park, also had their four-game mid-week series vs. the Yankees and their three-game weekend series vs. the Blue Jays postponed. The Phillies announced a pair of positive tests (for a coach and a home clubhouse staff member) on Thursday.

"The health and safety protocols were designed with a challenging circumstance like the one facing the Marlins in mind. The response outlined in the joint MLB-MLBPA Operations Manual was triggered immediately upon learning of the cluster of positive cases, including contact tracing and the quarantining and testing of all of the identified close contacts. The Marlins' personnel who tested positive remain in isolation and are receiving care."

The Marlins first had a positive test result on Opening Day, when Jorge Alfaro was placed on the injured list shortly before the team's season opener in Philadelphia. Here's a timeline of what happened between then and Monday.

The ICS Marlins English Language Test is an international standardised test of English for the maritime industry. It is used by shipping companies, maritime schools and training organisations to assess the language skills of seafarers before they start a job at sea.

Like we mentioned earlier, the Marlins English Test is an international standardised test of English for the maritime industry. It is used to measure a seafarer's or maritime worker's ability to communicate in English before they start work on a commercial ship or offshore structure.

The test is multiple choice, with questions spread across the topics covered by the version of the test you're taking. Questions are randomly selected from a database of over 500 possibilities, so no two tests are ever identical.

There's no time limit for completing any of the Marlins English Tests (despite the times listed above). Instead, Marlins provides estimates for how long the test takes the average person to complete.

In order to reduce the number of maritime incidents, it's important for maritime companies and training institutions to ensure that all employees can communicate effectively in English. Marlins language tests are one way to do that.

I have enabled UBL in Marlin firmware for my Ender 3 Pro and generated a mesh which probed the whole bed normally as expected. However when I use the menu option to Validate Mesh, the whole test print seems to several inches diagonally away from the 0,0,0 home point (see photo).

It is mandatory that all masters of UK flagged vessels pass a UKLAP grade 1 test (Irish CoC holders are exempt). Masters should make their FSE application as normal and we will issue a Notice Of Assessment (NOA) to sit the UKLAP1 exam.

In this globalized world, the maritime industry is characterized by an increasing mutli-nationality of the crewmembers. For this reason, the knowledge of the English language is increasingly more important for the seafarers that wants to develop their career in the maritime sector. This is demonstrated by the fact that a lot of ship owners and other companies requires to the candidate a certificate that shows their level of knowledge of the English language. Most of the times this is a proper requirement to access to the job interview. Between this certificates, the most requested worldwide is the Marlins test.

In fairness, Manfred ultimately did the proper thing, keeping the Marlins and Phillies off the field until testing could provide a clearer picture. No one test, positive or negative, offers proof. And you and I could be infected at the same time, but you could test positive three days before I do.

The virus is bigger than baseball. The league does not believe it bungled its response, as it handled the immediate crisis on Monday and longer-term issues on Tuesday, after four more Marlins had tested positive. And perhaps MLB got lucky this time, with the outbreak limited to one team.

Used as a stand-alone product, it provides a thorough assessment of the seafarer's ability to understand and speak English. Used in conjunction with the ISF Marlins computer test it provides the employer with a complete profile of the seafarer's language proficiency.

Vehicles pass by the home run sculpture as they wait in line outside of Marlins Park at a COVID-19 testing site during the coronavirus pandemic, Monday, July 6, 2020, in Miami. The long line of cars each morning as players arrive at work provides a reminder of the risks when they leave. Behavior away from the ballpark will be a big factor in determining whether Major League Baseball's attempt to salvage the 2020 season can succeed. (AP Photo/Lynne Sladky)
