Cars stoned, Malibongwe Drive closed

JOHANNESBURG - Malibongwe Drive near Cosmo City was blocked off by police on Monday morning as they anticipated protest action in the area.
It is believed that the protest could be related to service delivery.
A man drove past the police activity said the officers had "put measures in place so no one gets injured that way.'

He said the police said the protestors were throwing rocks at people passing by.

Roads were closed at Malibongwe in front of Cosmo City, as well as the N14 exit at the R512 going towards Cosmo City.

An alternative route motorists were advised to take was Muldersdrift Road via Beyers Naude Drive to Lanseria.
