Dear K.,
As you know, GLP Global Grant #1872362 for the 2018-2019 Rotary year was recently approved by The Rotary Foundation for the amount of $628,518. This incredible gift will change the lives of over 8,000 students and teachers through the GLP’s four proven programs (see our latest measurable results below).
That’s incredible! But we can’t stop there. There are thousands more deserving students who do not yet have the educational opportunities they need to work their way out of poverty—and this is your chance to help.
Will you ask your club to support Guatemalan students through the GLP this year? There are two complementary ways to get involved:

Join the Global Grant
Invite your club to join the Global Grant #1989785 hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Guatemala Oeste (D-4250) and Sudbury, ON (D-7010). The grant pays largely for educational tools like textbooks and computers as well as top-notch training for local teachers.
This year’s Global Grant pledge deadline is November 30, 2019. Don’t wait—bring up the GLP at your next club meeting! All pledges must be made through our easy online form. Please let us know if you have any questions by replying to this email.

Sponsor a Student
Get those books and computers into the hands of students by sponsoring a scholar in the GLP’s Rise Youth Development Program. There are over 300 Rise Program scholars who show great potential but face overwhelming obstacles, and they need your support to stay in school next year and benefit from the GLP’s long history of sustainable, tried-and-true programs. If your club has been continuing to support GLP global grants for years, this is also a great way to connect your club’s support with an individual child who you are helping.
Hey Canadians—there’s an extra bonus for you!
We will again apply for the matching grant from the government of Canada—which has the potential to match your club’s funds up to 6.5 times!! This may be the last year Canada offers this fantastic opportunity so maximize your club’s giving potential while you still can.
Thank you again for your commitment to the GLP. Together, we can provide Guatemalan children the education they need to realize a future beyond poverty.
Sincerely,
Diana Brown

As you know, the GLP is dedicated to data. We don't want to simply deliver high-quality programs—we want some hard numbers to tell us if they're working!
To that end, every year we test each of our programs to see what's working at 100% and where we can focus our attention to get even better results. Here's what we found:
