Adam Matthew Smith, an alumnus of the Allegheny College Department
of Computer Science, will be giving a talk this Friday, March 2 at
12:30 PM in Campus Center 301/302.
More information can be found in the title and abstract below. All
attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch. I invite you,
your friends, and your colleagues to attend.
Title:
RuleBender: Integrated Visualization for Biochemical Rule-Based
Modeling
Abstract:
Rule-based modeling is a powerful and increasingly popular approach
to modeling biological cell networks. However, visual tools are
needed to make the technique accessible to a broad range of users,
to make the specification of models less error-prone, and to
improve workflows. RuleBender is a novel system that supports the
integrated visualization, modeling, and simulation of rule-based
intracellular biochemistry. This talk will introduce the topic of
rule-based modeling and discuss an approach to supporting it with
RuleBender, with particular emphasis on visual global/local model
exploration and integrated simulation execution.
All are welcome to attend!
Kind Regards,
Greg
