All devices across the system are IP-connected, facilitating both centralized and decentralized setups, as well as easy interconnectivity with other systems. Devices in an IP-based system can be managed via OMNEO media networking technology, enabling better audio quality and greater scalability than any other PAVA system.

The Plena (VAS) Voice Alarm System range is an ideal evacuation, message and background music solution for small to medium sized applications in a variety of locations, such as schools, hotels, shopping centers, factories, offices and similar applications where public safety is essential.
Based on a Plena voice alarm controller unit, VAS can handle up to 6 zones with a built-in message manager, emergency microphone and a built-in 240 W power amplifier. By connecting additional 6-zone routers to the Plena VAS, the number of zones extends to a 120-zone capacity. The power per zone is freely distributable per zone and it can be over 1000 Watts per router (or 6 zones). In addition, 8 call stations with 32 call station keypads with programmable keys can be interconnected for message routing. Additional PLENA amplifiers can be added to create two-channel systems. The Plena Voice Alarm system is configured via a Windows. The Plena Voice Alarm Controller is the heart of the voice alarm system. It is the basis of the Plena Voice Alarm System, and has all the essential functionality for compliance with the IEC 60849 standard, including full system supervision, loudspeaker line impedance supervision, a supervised emergency microphone on the front panel and a supervised message manager. The messages can be merged to allow even more flexible use of pre-recorded announcements and evacuation messages. The controller can be used as a stand-alone system with up to six zones, or expanded to up to 60 zones using additional six-zone routers. Up to eight call stations can be connected. Interconnections are made using standard RJ45 connectors and shielded CAT-5 cable. A built-in 240 W amplifier provides the power for the emergency call channel and BGM. Additional Plena Amplifiers can be added to provide two-channel operation. All amplifiers are supervised. The audio output uses standard analogue audio 100 V line switching for full compatibility with the Plena family of public address equipment and Bosch EVAC-compliant loudspeakers. The system is configured using DIP switches for basic functionality and a PC for more advanced functions.

BOSCH Plena Voice Alarm Router is an expansion unit that may add six zones and 12 input contacts to the voice alarm system. It can use the integrated amplifier at the LBB 1990/00 voice alarm controller and offers inputs and outputs for one or two amplifiers in a multi- amplifier one or two-channel machine. It offers twin-channel operation for calls and BGM concurrently to a maximum of six special zones, the usage of plena amplifiers. Moreover, the single-channel operation is feasible with the simplest one-plena amplifier. A couple of routers also can share one amplifier, inclusive of the inner amplifier at the controller unit. It is possible to apply any variety of amplifiers from one up to the number of routers used. The controller helps with a/b wiring.
