Installingjust Haxchi is perfectly safe and will give you simple channel access to other homebrew programs without the need of the browser exploit anymore.

Installing CBHC though is FAR, FAR more dangerous but will allow coldboot into patched menu/homebrew, read this for more information:

Changes to Haxchi:

-use same iosu patcher for both haxchi and cbhc to allow haxchi to benefit from it

-added new config option to haxchi, "sysmenu" which will relaunch you into the system menu with signature, region patches and everything else that cbhc patches

Changes to CBHC and Haxchi:

-small logic correction in the iosu patcher

Changes to CBHC:

-added anti move/delete protection of the ds vc title when in CBHC CFW

NOTE: this change (as well as the last update) do NOT AFFECT MOCHA CFW, they only affect my internal CBHC CFW which you can enable by just setting it to autoboot system menu which will give you full signature and region patching as well as this protection and re-applying patches on reloads; overall letting your wiiu and the menu run as they would normally

Changes to CBHC:

-when starting up the console with system menu autoboot CBHC will now start the menu into mii selection if no default mii is set instead of just using the first mii

-added system reload patches to CBHC, thanks to dimok for patch location and elf patcher!

BE VERY CAREFUL AND ONLY USE CBHC IF YOU KNOW THE NORMAL HAXCHI VERSION WORKS FINE, AFTER INSTALLATION DONT DO ANYTHING STUPID LIKE MOVING THE DS VC AROUND OR DELETING YOUR DS VC OR UPDATING YOUR SYSTEM OR YOUR WIIU IS DEAD! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BRICKS TO YOUR WIIU CONSOLE WITH CBHC.

This now has a second installer specifically for a coldboot version of Haxchi - CBHC (ColdBoot HaxChi)!

BE VERY CAREFUL AND ONLY USE IT IF YOU KNOW THE NORMAL HAXCHI VERSION WORKS FINE, AFTER INSTALLATION DONT DO ANYTHING STUPID LIKE MOVING/DELETING YOUR DS VC OR UPDATING YOUR SYSTEM OR YOUR WIIU IS DEAD! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BRICKS TO YOUR WIIU CONSOLE.

Updated CBHC to fix the USB title launch problem

Yes, I still have a Nintendo Wii U and I think it is one of the best consoles ever. Why? Because it can play all Wii U and Wii games, and once hacked it gives one the access to Homebrew and emulations spanning every generation that came before it!

I will not dwell too much on the mistakes I made, except when relevant to the ultimate purpose of this post, which is to detail what I think is the best way of launching and configuring Haxchi on the console.

While there are many exploits available for the Wii U, they often involve taking a series of steps such as opening an URL via the web browser. Haxchi is an exploit that allows users to launch homebrew directly from the Wii U system menu by clicking on an icon. By default, when you Execute Haxchi its seems like it just re-loads the system menu. But in fact it applied the exploit that allow the execution of homebrew. So no more 199-999 errors.

The main point of Haxchi is the convenience of having an icon at the system menu. While way more convenient than having to launch an URL on the Wii U Browser to activate the exploit, it is still annoying having to run Haxchi, wait to be sent back to the system menu, and then run the homebrew application. Plus there is plenty of room for human error. Remember that if one accidentally run a homebrew application before Haxchi, the system will freeze on a 199-9999 error.

A proposed solution is to install an additional patch known as CBHC (Cold Boot HaxChi), which will ensure that HaxChi is executed as soon as the Wii U is booted. However this is an extremely dangerous patch. If the Haxchi install is moved, deleted or reinstalled, or if the user account that acquired the software that was exploited by Haxchi is removed, the console will BRICK (see here). There must be a better option, right? In fact I believe there is.

My Wii U is configured as follows. Haxchi is not configured to be executed during boot (CBHC is not installed). I have a Haxchi icon on my system menu that, once loaded, will automatically launch the homebrew launcher application which lists all homebrew applications that are installed on my Wii U.

All that Jack did was to modify the branding and configuration files for Haxchi found under the haxchi directory, so the Haxchi install binaries remained untouched. You can actually look at what he did and customise it further if you wish so. This configuration includes:

Anyone can modify these files before installing Haxchi in order to customise the deployment, just bear in mind to follow these instructions for modifying the image (TGA) files. These files are only used when Haxchi is installed. They are basically injected inside the DS game that will be exploited. Once Haxchi is installed, these files are no longer needed. The same goes for The Haxchi installer. So you can safely delete both the /haxchi and the wiiu/apps/haxchi directories of your SD card.

i was curious in jack sorells video when every he runs homebrew after install haxchi. does haxchi boots up along side homebrew. i just was just curious if its the same as running haxchi then homebrew

I messed up and accidently factory reset and wiped my Wii U. Not it only plays physical disks, and refuses to acknowledge my SD card, when I try to run homebrow, it comes with the error unable to load efi boot message. Anyone able to help?

Nintendo is a very innovative player in the console market, both in the mobile with the Nintendo DS and in the home console with the Wii. It is no exaggeration to say that Nintendo is the company that almost completely changed the way we play games, so that Microsoft and Sony have to follow with Kinect and Move. Now, Nintendo has continued to unify innovative control across both the Wii and DS series, and add enhanced graphics and control features to a single console, the Wii U. Will that change succeed while the dedicated gaming console market is increasingly shrinking?

To put it simply, BI (also known as business intelligence) is a form of technology that helps businesses understand the past, thereby making decisions, actions and predicting the future. Where BI includes skills, processes, technologies or applications to support decision making

Loadiine mit "A" zu starten, musst du also eintragen: "a=wiiu/apps/loadiine_gx2/loadiine_gx2.elf". "sysmenu" startet das Systemmen mit Patches.

Starte dann die Installation ber den Wii U Homebrew Launcher. Zum Aktualisieren einfach Haxchi "drberinstallieren". Fr die Deinstallation, lsche einfach den VC-Titel und lade ihn neu vom eShop herunter.

This is an explanation of all the steps I had to go through to make a modded Wii U in November 2018. I am not sure if it still applies, but I assume that if you have the same firmware, it should work.
