Hello everyone,

I am now at the Seeing Eye in Morristown, New Jersey. I have received,
Quattro, my fourth dog, last MOnday. So far, he is working out very well.
He has a moderately slow pace with just enough pull. He is very cautious
about my balance. As my instructor, Barb Engleking says, he is a dog who
wants to do the right thing.

Hearing can be a bit of a chalenge in certain situations. This iis
partularly true at mealtimes. There are nineteen students, instructors, and
other staff. In spite of acoustic tile that has been put in, it is hard
for me to hear with all the conversations going on at once.

Traffic lights are somewhat difficult, as well. I cantell when it is qauiet
and when cARS rev up, but determining direction. Fortunately, there are
accessible pedestrian signals jnear my house.

I feel that I am getting a lot of freedom back. Randy can only walk for a
few blocks now, and his pace is painfully slow.

I have tried my first amplified loop for the lectures in the Common Lounge.
It really helped with we used it earlier in the week, but we need to
straighten out some technical issues before we can use itr again.

If I hadn't had the CI, I am not sure whether or not I would be here.
