The Sierra Club, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Homeowners, Contractors, Installers, Conservatives, Liberals, Tradespeople, Engineers, Politicians, Governments, Energy Consultants, Architects, Landscapers, Gardeners, Product Reps, and many others. So what do they have in common? They all came to Green Drinks in 2007! And we are all the better for it as Green is becoming mainstream in Richmond. Thank you all for your 2007 participation.
We're starting 2008 by introducing you all to another environmental organization - the Richmond AIA Committee on the Environment, or COTE for short. They are the folks moving the implementation of the recent City 2030 plan along with the individuals and statewide organizations that helped develop it over the last year. The 2030 Challenge goal is to reach net zero energy use in buildings by 2030. Many folks from this group will be at Green Drinks so come out to dialog with these folks and help move RIchmond today toward this reachable goal.
Also, our Green Drinks founder, the JRGBC, will have representatives from several Committees gearing up for 2008 and looking for help to Green our Commonwealth, put on wonderful educational programs, LEED training workshops, and promote the Go Green Competition and Leadership Award programs! Want to learn about Green, fast? A Committee at JRGBC could be just the thing. And your work will help others to do the same.
What is Green Drinks? Every month people who work in building and environmental fields meet up for a beer at these informal sessions. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. Look for our website at the international organization - greendinks.org.
