To be cute is to perform powerlessness

Babies, stuffed animals with everything round and unthreatening

Asian American men are losers in the sexual marketplace

Experiencing society reject their attempts at traditional masculinity, they find a comfortable niche in the “soft boy” chic. 

I.e. performed vulnerability

This is a postponement of maturity. An infantilization. This creates men who seek mothers out of sexual partners.
