I recently purchased the Perfect Aire DIY Multi-Zone 3 Zone 24,000 BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner Heat Pump System from Chill Mini Splits, and I couldn't be more impressed with its performance. This mini split unit has exceeded my expectations in terms of efficiency, versatility, and overall functionality.
First and foremost, the installation process was surprisingly straightforward. The DIY aspect of this system truly lives up to its name, making it accessible for homeowners with a range of technical abilities. The included instructions were clear and concise, and the pre-charged refrigerant made the setup hassle-free. I appreciate the convenience it offers, saving both time and money on professional installation.
The cooling capacity of this 3-zone mini split is outstanding, providing a refreshing and consistent climate throughout my home. With 24,000 BTUs, it effectively cools three separate zones (9K + 9K + 12K) with ease. This is my second Mr Cool mimi split install in the past year. Installed 2 cassettes this time. It was going good until I tried to start the unit up. Got error code PC03. Did some research, and checked all wiring and line connections. The next day I took off the outside unit cover and found a wire connector to the high pressure switch was not fully plugged in (see attached photo). So, plugged it in where it snapped into place. Put cover back on and tested unit. That did the trick. Unit is working just fine now.

This feature allows you to control, program, and monitor your mini-split from anywhere with a wireless connection. Additionally, you get a full warranty on both compressor and parts, even if you install the unit yourself.
If you choose the DIY installation method, you will incur no installation costs apart from the time you invest in installing the unit. On the other hand, the non-DIY method comes with a lower unit price, but you will need additional installation accessories, which could increase the overall cost by up to 15%. The estimated cost for professional installation by an HVAC technician is about the same cost as the equipment, if not more. Also, the warranty is only valid if installed by a licensed HVAC company.

Typically there is a breaker installed in the main panel. The wire is ran to the disconnect box, and an electrical whip connects the disconnect box to the unit. The disconnect box is the on off switch, and the whip is like the plug. The indoor air handler will receives it power from the outdoor condenser via a control wire.
