Künzelsau. The Models Calendar of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG has been an attractive wall decoration in many workshops for more than 30 years now, enjoying a cult status among customers. The large-size wall calendar has been distributed to selected Würth customers in the trades and industry all over the world since 1984. For the first time, retail customers can now also purchase the Models Calendar 2016. With this decision, the company is reacting to the requests of the many fans of the popular calendar who have been asking to purchase the calendar for years.
On the web page www.wuerth.com/modelkalender, the 2016 calendar is available for ordering. In addition, the web page contains much information on the calendar, including a glance behind the scenes, facts and figures as well as an image gallery of the calendars of the past 30 years. The Würth Models Calendar 2016 is sold to retail customers for EUR 25, including shipping (within Germany).
In terms of content, the new calendar is focusing more on natural beauty. New York photographer Stephan Würth is presenting the models in a down-to-earth manner and in mostly every-day situations. The occasional blur, natural changes of light and shadows as well as several images per calendar sheet in some months give the 2016 Models Calendar a new and lively character. The Calendar shoot was taken during a sailing trip around the Virgin Islands. The Würth models for 2016 were all newcomers: Hannah Ferguson from the USA, Tereza Kačerová from the Czech Republic and Mathilde Gøhler from Denmark.
In past editions, top models like Claudia Schiffer, Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Laetitia Casta, Alessandra Ambrosio or Karolina Kurkova covered the pages of Würth's in-house production. The popular calendars are printed in Germany or Italy and the circulation is increasing: In 2016, 745,630 calendars will be distributed to Würth customers in 61 countries. Since 2003, another Würth calendar with male models has been published, which is also available at a price of EUR 25 (within Germany).
I didn't always believe I could be where I am today. As a kid growing up in Ghana I didn't think about things like legacy or timelessness. The world was what was in front of you, and I didn't see those possibilities in my surroundings. But when I looked outward, upward, I saw artists and leaders. I saw change-makers. They provoked me to think in new ways. I was inspired and challenged by their fearlessness, their work ethic and the sacrifices they made.The drive and spirit I saw within them, I began to perceive within myself.I started to look beyond my own world, past any obstacle or ceiling and straight into the sky itself.These individuals taught me not only to dream of a different kind of life, but to make it a reality. Over the years, one of the things that has struck me on my own journey is that so many of those people who inspired me as a child, keep inspiring me today. And at the same time, new figures, even younger than myself, have become giants, new inspirations. I realized that it isn't about being young or old, fresh or wise. What makes these icons who they are lies elsewhere. It is in their focus, their dedication, their passion. They never stop. They never quit. They seem indelible, able to continue to create, achieve and imagine in ways that almost defy time itself. They are timeless. This is my theme. This is the story I want to tell. This project is a calendar, but it is not one with a great respect for time. It is anti-time. It is a celebration of these iconic individuals who with every step chart their own timeless path. In these images, my aim is to explore and reimagine how I perceived these seminal figures as a kid growing up in West Africa. I want to tell a story that explores the power of how our achievements are experienced in the eyes of those we inspire. In the end this project is not about my journey or yours; it's about theirs, my community, the youth. This is about providing a chance for other kids like me, to see these images and to be inspired to become their own best selves.

Since 1984, Würth swimsuit calendars have been an ubiquitous part of nearly every shop across North America and Europe. For fairness, they also publish a male calendar but I have never seen it and have yet to be offered one.
