I have had both an original and a replacement for this keyboard and both have had problems. The first just quit, the second had some kind of short. Not worth it.
In my video you see I try to push the caps lock, change the background, change the connection. Nothing works. Randomly shuts itself off

@mikekaganski Nice, I had forgotten the multi-script context where layout switch makes full sense (Japan, Korea, of course Cyril. I was prisoner of my single-script (or single-alphabet) routine where the layout switch brings more confusion than help.
Is your keyboard damaged ? I seem to read the same Cyrillic character on G and K (as Cyrillic P). Where is Cyrillic L? Is it an artefact of low resolution image?
All settings within onboard and the system properties are activated that relate to the login/lock screens. But for none of them, an on screen keyboard is displayed automatically. While I can call it in the login screen, there is no such option in the lock screen.
Is the on screen keyboard in the login screen powered by onboard as well? Cause it looks different.
Are there other on screen keyboards that are better? I will try them sooner or later, but if s. o. has an experience here, this would be greatly appreciated.
Finally: how can I enable an on screen keyboard in the lock screen?
I set up a dual boot with Windows 8.1 and Linux Mint 17.2 and I have issues with an unresponsive mouse and keyboard on login. The mouse remains frozen for about 20-30 seconds and then starts working, however, the keyboard remains frozen. I searched around and found a temporary fix by powering off my system and removing the power-cord for 5 minutes to reset BIOS. When I do this the keyboard and mouse work and continue to work upon every system restart just as long as I keep using linux; if I boot up windows again and then go back to linux the problem happens all over again.
My keyboard works fine in GRUB. I have noticed that the times my mouse and keyboard DO work in linux login there are error codes presented referring to my USB. Also, I set my linux system to auto-login in order to circumvent the actual login, but when I get into my account the same issue happens; so its not just a problem with the login screen.
Without thinking it out, I purchased a Logitech K380 blue tooth keyboard because I have a couple at home I use on Windows system. That was an immediate fail on this Linux laptop. The only way to access Function keys is by pressing FN+fkey. There are too many functions keys I need to press another key as well such as FN+SHIFT+F7. It was too clumsy to try to use this keyboard.
I was in the local Walmart and happened by the computer accessories and saw the Anker A7726 keyboard. There is an option on that keyboard to press FN+WIN. I (wrongly) assumed this would force FN lock.
With the new knowledge of this workaround I went back to do the same to the Logitech K380 keyboard. This fix cannot really be applied to that keyboard. Function keys F1-F3 and F5-F6 do not transmit scan codes (they do local functionality like change blue tooth connections). After hours of messing with that idea I gave it up.
For the love of god I just can't figure out what is and how to disable the super(win)+space keyboard shortcut on 19.2. Tina.The shortcut switches between little previews of open windows in the panel.If anyone could help me I would be very great full.
