All requirements for Scout rank must be completed as a member of a troop or as a Lone Scout. If you already completed these requirements as part of the Webelos Scouting Adventure, simply demonstrate your knowledge or skills to your Scoutmaster or other designated leader after joining the troop.

Scout became a rank effective Jan. 1, 2016. All requirements for the Scout rank must be completed as a member of a troop. If you have already completed these requirements as part of the Webelos Scouting Adventure, simply demonstrate your knowledge or skills to your Scoutmaster or other designated leader after joining. Upon joining, a Scout must still meet the age requirements. The Scout must be a youth who is 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade or earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but is not yet 18 years old.

Kind of a 3 step process. Clear awarded > Save > Clear Approved > Save > Clear Date > Save - that should get you where you need. Then you can hand the Guide to Advancement to you Districts Advancement chair as they are outside its guidance on Eagle BORs.

@PaulGardner1 - if the date of rank being earned is correct then that is all that is needed. There is no real reason to go back and enter the date of the requirements. This should be of little concern.

@PaulGardner1 Many ranks in Scoutbook will autocomplete. So if all of the requirements for a rank are complete, then Scoutbook will automatically mark the entire rank as completed. Is that what is happening here? I cannot tell from your screenshot if the individual requirements are also marked completed.

How can I determine the Mastery Rank requirements for individual crafting components of Prime items? It seems that they can differ from the built weapon's Mastery Rank (so looking at the Warframe wiki is insufficient), and I'm trying to determine where we can find this information, whether it is in-game or external, so I can plan my next gameplay steps. Would I have to ask someone with a low Mastery Rank that has that item in inventory (from opening Relics) to look at the Foundry and see if crafting is blocked by a "Mastery Locked" message?

For context, I'm trying to acquire Glaive Prime before Update 21 arrives on consoles, which will cause the Mastery Rank requirement to rise from 0 to 10 (I'm currently Mastery Rank 8). When I type [Glaive Prime] in chat, the pop-up description does not indicate a Mastery Rank requirement, while [Euphonia Prime] (for example) displays a Mastery Rank requirement of 14. I was able to receive the necessary Glaive Prime Blade and Glaive Prime Disc components via trade. When I tried to trade for the Glaive Prime Blueprint, the other party stated that a Mastery Rank requirement prevented that item from being added to the trade.

I know you can type [Glaive Prime] in a chat and look at the link to determine the rank of the weapon before you purchase it, Glaive Prime shows Mastery 10 is required. Go off of that for the main blueprint being locked as well.

Thank you for the replies, but it looks like I wasn't clear enough in my original explanation. I am encountering a discrepancy between the stated Mastery Rank for the weapon and the trading requirements enforcing a different Mastery Rank for the blueprint. I have been able to craft or acquire other weapons that will have their Mastery Rank raised above my current Mastery Rank in Update 21 (which hasn't been released yet for consoles), including Mara Detron (thanks to TennoCon), Kohmak, Akbronco Prime (traded for the Akbronco Prime Link), Pyrana, and Twin Kohmak. I'm having trouble doing the same for Glaive Prime, which currently shows as Mastery Rank 0 in-game (no requirement displayed).

The swimming MB states that before doing the requirements, complete the 2nd class and 1st class rank reqiremnets. If a boy when earning the swimming MB does these to the satifaction of his counselor, should the troop accept these as having completed the 2nd and 1st rank requirements, or should he do them again as this is for the rank and not the MB?

I believe the PLC determines who signs off advancements, and whoever is signing off the advancement should be satisfied the requirement was met. In our troop, also, completing the merit badge is accepted as meeting these requirements.

I believe it is up to you. You can review it with the scout and see if he understands it to your satisfaction. Or, if you are confident in the counselor's work, then you may just accept his MB completion.

(7b) Demonstrate your ability to jump feet first into water over your head in depth, level off and swim 25 feet on the surface, stop, turn sharply, resume swimming, then return to your starting place.

(7c) Demonstrate water rescue methods by reaching your arm or leg, by reaching with a suitable object, and by throwing lines and objects. Explain why swimming rescues should not be attempted when a reaching or throwing rescue is possible, and explain why and how a rescue swimmer should avoid contact with the victim.

Jump feet first into water over your head in depth, swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: sidestroke, breaststroke, trudgen, or crawl; then swim 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke. The 100 yards must be swum continuously and include at least one sharp turn. After completing the swim, rest by floating.

Is your question who (MB counselor or Troop Leader) decides if the 2nd and 1st Class requirements have been met? The answer is that the troop makes that determination. They may make that determination by testing the Scout themselves or by going on the word of the MB counselor if he/she puts the Scout through their paces so to speak.

If a boy has earned Swimming merit badge, and the Second and First Class requirements are required for the merit badge, then the boy has completed his Second and First Class swimming requirements and should have them recorded as being completed.

Since the requirements state "before doing the following requirements . . .", I ask to see the Scout's handbook. If the mentioned prerequisite requirements are signed off, I ask a few questions for my sake and we continue. As for the swimming skill part, I will be able to tell quite quickly if he can actually swim at the required prerequisite level and above.

If they are not, the Scout must cover/do the prerequisite requirements to my satisfaction before we continue. I do not jump straight to the MB requirements; I want to see that the Scout is sufficiently able to complete the basic prerequisite skills. This is a safety issue, as well as what's required. When he has completed the prerequisites I will provide him with a note to the Scoutmaster that the 2nd and 1st class requirements were completed to my satisfaction during the course of doing the MB, leaving the troop with the option of signing off in the handbook, or not. Most will sign off. Some will call to talk to me first. A few have not signed off and made the Scout do it for the troop - while I question this in my mind, I take no offense.

Personally, I much prefer that the prerequisites are completed before the Scout even calls me to do the Merit Badge and usually ask when they call about doing the MB if they have already completed the 2nd and 1st class items. It's much cleaner that way and saves some time.

The 2nd & 1st Class requirement can be done together. And if a Scout passes his swimmers test at summer camp, he has met requirement 7b for 2nd Class & 9b for 1st Class as well as the distance requirement for the Swimming MB.

There are formulas for computing masterpoint awards for all ACBL-sanctioned events. These formulas take into account various factors, such as the class of the event, the size of the field, the number of sessions and the level of competition, thus ensuring maximum uniformity throughout the ACBL in determining masterpoint awards.

Red points are awarded for all regional-rated events at North American Bridge Championships (NABCs) and for all events at a regional tournament when the masterpoints are not gold. Grand National Teams (GNT) events, North American Pairs (NAP) events and other special games afford players the opportunity to earn red points at their local clubs.

In addition to rank advancement, there are three categories to compete in within your rank at the national, district and unit level: The Mini-McKenney, Helen Shanbrom Ace of Clubs and Ace of Virtual Clubs races. To be listed in these categories, you must be a paid member in good standing.

The vast majority of ACBL members play in local club games. To recognize achievement at the club level, the Ace of Clubs competition was created in 1984. These club champions are recognized at the unit level and ACBL-wide. All points won at the club level are counted in this contest with the exception of those won in STaCs. This award was renamed in 2011 in honor of Grand Life Master Helen Shanbrom of Tamarac FL. Shanbrom was one of the most active players in the ACBL for decades and won the top category of the Ace of Clubs more times than any other member in ACBL history.

Begining in January of 2023, all sanctioned games held at ACBL Virtual Clubs (VACB), are to be counted in the Ace of Virtual Clubs Masterpoint Races at Unit, District and ACBL-wide levels, and are not to be counted in the Helen Shanbrom Ace of Clubs.

* A Member who became a Life Master prior to January 1, 1990, will be exempt from the pigmented point requirements for this rank. Each player who has attained the rank of Life Master as of December 31, 2011, will not have to fulfill the pigmented point requirements for their next rank advancement. After attaining their first rank after January 1, 2012, all players will be required to fulfill the pigmented point requirements for subsequent rank advancement (this also applies to the new ranks added in 2015). For example, a current Silver Life Master on December 31, 2011, would retain the current requirements for Gold Life Master, would not have any pigmented requirements for Ruby Life Master, but would need to fulfill the new requirements for Sapphire and Diamond Life Master.
