I bought vice city on my iphone 5 and ipad 3.i played on ipad 3 some missions then saved to ipads local memory and one save to cloud memory. My icloud is turned on on both devices. But when i go to iphone i cant see a slot in icloud space. It writes no icloud saves. What to do. But in icloud when you can see what you have in your icloud account i found gta vice city saves but still i cant see it in the game. So i do something wrong ?thank you...
I was having the same problem, I tried checking the icloud settings to see if the documents were turned on, and they were, I could see my vice city save game in there even. So I rebooted both my iPad in my iPhone and that seemed to fixed it. My save game from my iPad is showing on my iPhone. I haven tried going back the other way yet.
3 - Open Vice City on the same device you just closed it on - now go to the options and delete any icloud saves you have on that device (the dustbin icon lets you do it). Now go back to the main home menu in vice city and click 'resume game'.
If you have a brand new game installation of GTA VC, it is recommended that you start the game first, and then exit it right after the first mission starts. This will create all the required files and folders in the My Document folder where all the saved games are stored.
No new game is required. Just download any save level extract it and get GTAVCsf1.b file and copy or save it to C:Documents and SettingsYour NameMy DocumentsGTA Vice City User Files. And now start the game and select saved games and choose first saved game. ?
Here's the dilemma: My nephew decided to start a new game on GTA vice city which wiped out my hard worked progress. I have the progress in an old backup from a year ago. However, I would like to not lose the data I have from other apps.
Story of my attempts: I have found the GTA data in iExplorer and have saved to my desktop. However, the app doesn't have iTunes file sharing enabled so I cannot replace the existing files in the "documents" for the app from the backup. I have also tried to downgrade the iPhone to iOS 8.3 but as the ipsw is unsigned, I cannot downgrade.
So:What is the best way to achieve this? I could restore the phone from the old backup and then backup only the GTA app to iCloud, the restore the phone from the recent backup and then sync with the cloud. However, I feel that it will simply wipe out all other apps and only restore the one selected app. Is that correct? What other options do I have? Could I merge the backups somehow? Could I do this via iTunes sync where the data of the correct GTA savegame is synced and replaces the unwanted data?
Any chance you've got a period in your windows username?
If so then that's the problem, GTA SA has the same problems btw, another option could be that your user permissions block the game from creating the save file/folder.
If that doesn't help there's some guides on modifying the .exe which was originally intended to fix corrupted save files but it has fixed the problem you're mentioning in some cases as well, I would save this option for last however since you'll probably need to do some proper research on how to do it before attempting it.
Unfortunately not - all one word, with no punctuation. Your post makes me wonder whether I should have a look for an "alternative" exe file though. Perhaps it's another case of the pirates getting a version that works, while genuine customers get a robust shafting with ill conceived DRM?
heh, tbh I haven't played the legit version ever when vice city was released I was still sailing the seas since those where the days that drm was really buggy and gamebreaking, but I wasn't referring to a cracked version, there's some fixes out there that require you to modify the .exe file yourself to dodge some compatibly problems.
2 things I remembered that should be easy to try, first one is checking the save location folder properties to make sure it isn't "read only" which is something a lot of older non steam games struggle with and going by your description that just might be it, alternatively you could try running the exe in compatibility mode (xp should work right?) this might fix it if the game is unable to even create a save file folder.
Try deleting your gta_vc.set file, which should be located in (assuming you're using a Windows OS)...
Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\GTA Vice City User Files
At times the file becomes corrupted or is set to use a distinct save-location than desired which leads to this issue, among others. The game will create a new file on reboot; I should warn you that this will also reset your controls to the default.
Same here. After collecting 95 hidden packages, the game crashed when i entered the airport terminal. Now both my savegame as well as the autosave file seem to be broken. Everytime i load one of them the game crashes instantly. Would be nice if someone has a workaround.
Happened to me one time, was using 3 save slots with same name from completed mission - all were corrupted and were crashing the game. So I decided not to wait until patch arrives, but load a save file that was 3 hours behind. And after that I was saving like every 5-10 minutes and loading save file just to be sure it's ok and maybe find out what caused that problem
I've just had the same thing happen to me when retrying the "The Job" mission after getting busted. I've been using 2 different save slots each time I save in case 1 got corrupted. Crashes instantly when loading both of them now. Was on around 75% and my closest save that will load is at 21%. Looks like I won't be playing this again until it get's patched, no way am I playing all through that again. I'd completed all the jumps, rampages, packages etc and can't be bothered to do them all again.
Just happened to me as well, didn't do anything weird and no fixes work. All files corrupted. Not doing all that again, deleted. Damn shame. PS+ backup doesn't even work bc the corrupted save got uploaded to server. SMH, any developer who actually cared would have fixed this by now. Was kind of enjoying it too, although it felt much smaller than it did when I was a kid both in length and map.
First, make sure that you are playing the game with the Netflix account and profile you started with. You can see the account profile icon in the game. Tapping the icon will allow you to switch to a different profile to play.
You can only continue your progress on the original device you played on since the save data is stored locally. Playing on a different device (even on the same profile) won't let you pick up where you left off.
When you upgrade to a new device, game saves from the old device may be moved to the new one during data transfer. There is no way to manually transfer game data from one device to another at this time.
Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is remembered fondly as one of the best games in the franchise, but a save file glitch at the Cherry Poppers Ice Cream Company in the game's original release made life miserable for many. GTA: Vice City featured a number of firsts for the 3d era of Grand Theft Auto games, including the ability to buy boats, go inside building interiors, and have a means of communication other than pagers and pay phones. It was also the first time the series allowed players to purchase businesses, a mechanic which has since been expanded and (sometimes) improved on in subsequent GTA releases.
Although many longtime series fans will agree that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas had the largest and most impressive amount of quality side content in the 3D era, GTA: Vice City brought a lot to the table as well. One of the franchises' best heists is in GTA: Vice City, and the game boasts a nice collection of outfits, rewards, and mission variety in both the main campaign and its optional areas. Many things which would become standard in later Grand Theft Auto titles, such as the player's ability to take a cab themselves back to a failed mission, as well as iconic vehicles like the Freeway motorcycle, appeared first in Vice City.
Unfortunately, the game wasn't perfect. While GTA: Vice City did not launch with such a wide array of bugs and glitches that the game had to be pulled from store shelves, nor did the developers ever anger so many fans that thousands of people demanded refunds, one pesky glitch at the Cherry Poppers Ice Cream Company in GTA: Vice City slipped though the cracks - and it's one that made a lot of players very frustrated back when the game originally launched on the PS2.
If a player saves their game at the save icon which appears after purchasing the Cherry Poppers Ice Cream Company in GTA: Vice City, there is a very strong chance that save file will become corrupt. If that same player does not use multiple save files, this could mean their entire progress can be erased - something which would amount to a hefty number of hours, since the ability to purchase property in Vice City isn't something which unlocks until the second half of the game.
There was no way to get around this glitch when Grand Theft Auto: Vice City originally launched on PS2, and players simply had to know about it ahead of time and not make the same mistake twice. Since this was before the common practice of day one patches and online updates, every version of GTA: Vice City which was sold for a while had this problem. It was only when the game was ported to other consoles, and had further printings and releases on PlayStation, that the save glitch at GTA: Vice City's ice cream factory was able to be fixed. Even so, there are likely many players who are playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on PC today, and although the glitch has been fixed in all versions for a while now those players should (and likely will) pick somewhere else besides the Cherry Poppers Ice Cream Company to save their game... just in case.
