Hi there! I'm using an old version of Daemon Tools (v3.47) with Windows 98. I'm creating .bat files to unmount and mount images. It works just fine with .iso files, but I'm unable to use .bin/.cue files in this way. These .cue files mount just fine when doing it manually via the daemon tools in the system tray, but when attempting to load them via a .bat file, I receive the following message: "Unable to mount image. Cue sheet: Unable to access image file."
Again, the exact same cue file works without incident when mounting directly using the daemon tools interface in the system tray, but does not work in a .bat file.
I'm using the same syntax as I would for mounting an iso (which DOES work just fine) but replacing the file path to a cue file.
Anybody have experience with this?
Thanks!
I am looking for a simple software to mount iso images (ccd, cue+bin, etc) for windows xp. I am running a minimal XP, fully compatible with DOS games controlling tunning processes, priority, etc, to get full-speed smoth scrolling with VDM.
This software should be able to access cdda tracks in those images (my computer doesn't have a cdrom unit).
I am not using daemon tools or Magic ISO because those are ad-ware apps wich install resident components even when no image is mounted, and I CAN'T STAND THAT: I control what I run each moment.
Comand line tools are preferred.
Unless you're really that irritated by a system tray applet, the ad-ware components are strictly optional! Just pay a little more attention during the install process, and make sure you're using Daemon Tools Lite instead of the Standard or Pro versions (which appear to be evaluation shareware).
system try applets and spyware are the same shit for me in my ideal world. I don't need/want that: in linux & osx, I can mount on demand, without services running. Is that impossible in windows, then? I should've known by now... I can't expectc much from that retarded os.
Try FantomDVD. You have to run it each time to mount an image and you can easily remove the adapter. FantomDVD does not stay resident while a image is mounted iirc and FantomDVD requires no installation, just extract and go...
Windows, Linux, and Mac OS all have completely different ways of doing almost everything, you can't expect everything that works on one (or two) to work in exactly the same way on the others. The fact that you're asking for command-line tools is probably proof that you're doing it wrong; the Windows command line interface is awful, but it isn't supposed to be very useful, you're supposed to use the GUI. Also, any utility that mounts disc images as drives in Windows MUST have at least some kind of resident component in the form of a driver for it to be be able to work at all; you will not find something with no resident components whatsoever, because no such thing can exist.
Now, having said all that, what it sounds like you might want is something with an Explorer right-click menu extension that can be used instead of a system tray icon (i.e., you don't have to run anything at all, you can just right click on an image file and click mount). I know PowerISO has this (and it also has a command-line tool), but it isn't free; there probably is a free app with very similar functionality that I just don't know about.
I use Daemon Tools frequently from the command line. Most of my daughter's games are set up that way so she doesn't have to deal with mounting images or handling easily scratched disks.
For example I created this in a .bat file and made an icon linked to it on her desktop. She clicks the icon and it mounts and runs the game for her.
I use daemon tools but also have the latest Alcohol 120%. 120% has the option to create not only disk images but make your own images from stuff you have stored on your Harddrive. There shouldn't be any problem talking about this stuff here, its very useful for making images of games you own in case the disk gets damaged or just so its less of a hassle next time you install the game.
2. Install Daemon Tools. When you got it go to the folder that has the 4 iso images you extracted. Double click on CD1. This will mount the image for you. Normally other cracks have separate installer for you so you can mount all 4 at once and just run setup but this one you need to go step by step.
Hi, kind of a noob with computers so can i ask for help? I see all these comments saying they mounted the .mds file but the game i downloaded (yandere) when extracted only has a .bin and .cue file. Which one should i mount? and do i paste the english patch before or after mounting?
hey new here and i may have over looked something but no matter what i do i cant mount the image for \do you like horny bunnies\ i am using daemon tools ultra, and daemon tools light, and neither one works, i get no symbol or anything in my system tray and when i try to mount it on Ultra all i get is \please insert the correct cd-rom. help please, i have tried making a virtual device but nothing i do seems to work
just installed the game, extracted with winrar, mounted with daemon tools copied and pasted the crack over, launch the game, select new game and it gets stuck on the first screen, sitting there looking at an empty room, a text bubble up with nothing in it but a single \
anyone having similar issues?
I have a problem as well. Tried installing Animamundi using Daemon tools lite. I was able to mount the ISO file and it told me the installation was successful, but there are no short cuts to enter the game, no buttens and the system does not find it, when I try searching for it.
Then again, if I mount and run the set up again, it keeps asking me if I want to change anything. So it HAS been installed, but for whatever reason it is invisible. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks
first of all,
to admin:your website rocks, pleaze keep it up!!!
next the question:
when you use winrar to extract multiple archieves
and a message pops because the files are the same should i overwrite all of em,not ovewrite or rename all so they wont be replaced?
also when mounting with deamon tools lite, you can only mount those files with the blue icon that are identified from it right?

As disk images and definition files are simply another type of file in a Linux environment, it is possible to use many tools to access, edit and write to these files. When used correctly, such tools can be an important part of guest administration. However, even correct usage of these tools is not without risk. Risks that should be considered when manually manipulating guest disk images include:
Data Corruption: concurrently accessing images, by the host machine or another node in a cluster, can cause changes to be lost or data corruption to occur if virtualization protection layers are bypassed.
Administrator Error: bypassing virtualization layers correctly requires advanced understanding of virtual components and tools. Failing to isolate the images or failing to clean up properly after changes have been made can lead to further problems once back in virtualization control.
libguestfs C library has been designed to safely and securely create, access and modify virtual machine (VM Guest) disk images. It also provides additional language bindings: for Perl, Python, PHP (only for 64-bit machines), and Ruby. libguestfs can access VM Guest disk images without needing root and with multiple layers of defense against rogue disk images.
