Doesthe Fitbit Inspire 2 offer continuous 24/7 heart rate monitoring? I am in need of a Fitbit tracker that continuously monitors my heart rate without me having to turn it on and off. Will the Inspire 2 do so or is there another Fitbit option that I need to look into?

@CheckingtheFit Thank you for getting back to us. Since you're using Fitbit Inspire 2 and it has an Exercise app, you can check your real-time heart rate and heart-rate zone during a workout. So I agree with @JohnnyRow, multiple times per second.

Thanks for clarifying this JohnnyRow. Other trackers consider "continuous" heart rate monitoring to mean checking heart rate only at certain time intervals. And intervals are not ideal when you're trying to maintain a target heart rate during exercise. Yojana mentions..."Since you're using Fitbit Inspire 2 and it has an Exercise app you can check your real-time heart rate..." Is there a difference between the heart rate I would access using the exercise app and the heart rate I would see on the home screen ?

Sorry, but I don't even know if what I said above is still true. That was based on what I read in on-line Help section several years ago, but I can't find any more. I don't know if that got left out in a Help re-organization, was intentionally removed, or maybe even sampling rate was changed. And I doubt that anyone who truly knows would be answering questions here.

Well darn because I just bought the Inspire 2 from Fitbit lol. Maybe I can just test it against a stationary bike with heart rate sensors and see if the Fitbit heart rate tracks closely or only updates at intervals.

Heart rate tracking performed well. Inspire 2 seemed more accurate than a "True" branded stationary bike and as good or better than a Life Fitness cross trainer. Tip for people who don't want to squint at the screen for the tiny heartrate number: Use the exercise app for a larger display.

I'm finding the Inspire HR heart rate monitor is inaccurate especially at higher BPM. I was at the gym exercising on a ARC Trainer. The Fitbit had my heart rate at 101 and the ARC, which has a built in HR monitor in the handles, showed 124. I moved the Fitbit low and high, top and bottom of the wrist plus loosened and tightened the band. It still was well under in it's accuracy. This has also happened while climbing steps outside the gym and I took my own pulse. The Inspire HR is consistently inaccurate.

Hi, I've also found the Inspire HR inaccurate at high BPM - mine seems to overstate the heart rate - it recorded me as 209 beats per minute sustained and on a bike ride it had me doing 192 bpm both way above what I should be capable off.

If a moderator is reading this I've tried wearing it on different wrists, experimented with moving it up and down my wrist and having the strap loose and tight - it still seems to to overstate my heart rate - any suggestions?

Inspire HR seems to be more influenced by your movements than your heart rate. When it should have been approaching 180 it showed less than 130. On an exercise bike with HR consistently in 140's it showed 70. The graph of the heart rate often shows it increasing, then suddenly dropping low when working harder.

Like others I have tightened and loosened the strap, moved it higher and lower, changed wrists and even tried it on the inside of my wrist, but it would still never show my actual hear rate during exercises.

I too have this problem. I'm kind of glad to know I'm not the only one! I feel like I'm exerting myself and the Inspire HR isn't recording it properly, it's very frustrating. Please do something about this!

I have notice the same thing. When I check my heart rate during exercise it is always higher than what I seen on the daily heart rate, sometimes as much as 30 BPM more! Which is correct? I need to know.

I found that it can't track heart at rest. During intense crosstraining it's all the place. One moment it's reading 132 a minute later it is reading 72. Going with Samsung and taking this out to the shooting range.

Please help! I purchased one for my wife recently. The HR monitor worked for about an hour after it was 1st set up and now it doesn't seem to work. I've restarted the phone, the app, re-logged in and restarted the device. Nothing seems to work. I'm not seeing the flashing light on the underside of the device at all.

Please double check that her Inspire 2's heart rate settings are turned on by going into the Settings app on the tracker. Also, if the Inspire 2 is set to "On Clip" mode the heart-rate tracking along with other features will turned off.

I appreciate that you checked your settings. The "On Clip" and "On Wrist" features will be found in the "Quick Settings". To access them press and hold the buttons on Inspire 2 and tap those settings to adjust them.

If your heart rate isn't working, please check that On Wrist and Heart Rate are turned on in the Settings app, to access them press and hold both buttons. If the icons are illuminated, this means they have been activated. Is the heart rate icon turned on?

@Lestalk Thank you for getting back. In this case, I've shared your post with our Support team and someone will contact you as soon as possible. Due to recent events affecting our operations we may take a bit longer to get back to you.

Thank you, thank you! Before looking on here I had done a chat with a Fitbit tech but he could not figure out why my inspire was not recording bp, active minutes, etc. After almost a week of frustration I ask on here and get the solution. I am so happy!!

I'm experiencing the same thing, but with the Fitbit Sense. Everything has been reconnected and updated, but no dice. Is there really no solution for Fitbit heart rate info to populate into the Strava app?

I have applied all updates for both apps and my device. Has not helped. I have given up, which is too bad because it means I am now only using the fitbit app and not Strava. I miss the social aspect of Strava, but definitely not going to upload my exercise files manually. I did that for a few sessions but it's slow and picky.

Fitbit devices cannot communicate directly to any other app besides the Fitbit app. Therefore, if you want Fitbit recorded heart rate data to show on your Strava activities, you will need to record your activities on the Fitbit App or the Fitbit device and sync them to Strava.

There are dozens of users over on the Fitbit forums saying that they have recently lost the ability to sync Fitbit activities to Strava, even though we previously could. The sync stopped working a few months ago - about the time that the OP here posted. We have all been unlinking and re-linking the apps as advised by both companies, but it does not fix the issue. (I have followed the steps three times now. Both of my apps SHOW that they are linked, but they do not sync from Fitbit to Strava.)

I have had my Inspire HR since 10/17/19. The heart rate monitor worked great for about a week and a half. Then it started cutting in and out. I tried resetting it, clearing my data, deleting it from my Fitbit app and re-adding it, and it sill works intermittently. When it isn't working, I can see that the green light is not on. Then I discovered last week, that if I rolled the tracker on my wrist so I could see the bottom of it, I could make the green light come on and go off. I took it off of my wrist and tried twisting the bands in opposite directions, and again could make the green light go on and off. I think the heart rate monitor has a loose connection inside my tracker, and I would like my tracker repaired or replaced under warranty please. Unfortunately the instructions for doing so are not very clear. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Let me help you with your Inspire HR sensor not working and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. I suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device. If you wish you can reach out to our Support team here.

It sounds like the On Clip mode is activated as it's the option you're getting. This could explain why you're not getting sleep or heart rate. To switch between On Wrist and On Clip mode, tap the setting the tap the checkmark to confirm it.

My heart rate monitor worked yesterday now after 1 nights sleep its not working. Apparently stopped working before i went to sleep based on the sleep data. I registers a resting heart rate of 60 otherwise nothing. I have tried moving the device further up my arm as it suggested NOTHING. I have tried wearing it tighter as suggested NOTHING. I have tried wearing it so tight my hand started going numb and it still couldnt detect anything.

On top top of that i look to try and find out how to get in touch with customer support and i get forums you dont appear to answer. The choice to sign up to twitter just to send you a message or call you in very limiting hours.

Does anyone know if there is another way to contact this company? What kind of customer service operation these days does not have a direct message link on there apps and only operates in the same working hours everyone else does. At least open later (9pm) or work wed-sun to allow people the chance to actually call your helpline.

This is the first fitbit i have purchased. They have been going to a long time now and figured the newest technology should be quite sound and foolproof by now. Starting to regret giving money to this company now.

Hi, @MikiR and @Panda77 have you checked to make sure that the heartrate function is switched on? On the Inspire 2 swipe down until you come to the settings menu, then swipe until you see Heartrate. Tap to switch on or off.

1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger. 2. Connect your device to the charging cable. 3. Press and hold the button or buttons on your tracker for 5 seconds. 4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
