Splitscreen is a console-exclusive feature that allows up to four players to play on one screen at the same time. It is supported on console versions of Bedrock Edition. Realms, and peer-to-peer online multiplayer have support for splitscreen. External servers, including the featured servers, do not.
For the PS4 version of Minecraft Bedrock Edition, is it currently possible to both play split-screen and online simultaneously? Let's say I had 4 people playing splitscreen on my PS4, I have playstation + on my main account, and I'm online, could one of my internet friends join my world and play, as well? If this is possible, could someone quickly explain the process? Thanks.
I've heard of Online Splitscreen in some games sure, where people in your own home & yourself play in splitscreen and someone else playing online can play too but I don't think in Minecraft multiplayer its possible that way only Splitscreen Local of 4 players or Online to your world or Mojang's/4J Studio's servers (which is what Realms is).
Splitscreen is where players just login into their PSN account (so when you have family or friends play the game in your house, this is called LAN) and then join the world and it will make it Splitscreen and the more players that join end up taking more corners of the screen.
Online you need a one of you is the host, you create a session [just select a world] (best to make sure it's private so no one else but yourself and your friend can join the session). As far as I found you can have people join that are on your friends list according to here: -do-I-play-Minecraft-online-for-ps4?share=1

Do you remember the good old days when you played console games with your friends on a split-screen? You can now evoke those memories and create some fantastic new ones using Minecraft split-screen. Unfortunately, this option is only available on consoles (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox).
Local split-screen refers to playing on a single console, not being mistaken for LAN (local area network) play, where several devices get used. Up to four players can join on any given device. The instructions to play Minecraft in split-screen mode vary slightly for each game console, but the instructions below will cover them all.
Once player 2/3/4 join game on their PSN/Microsoft accounts on a single console PS4 system and join the Host's world in Minecraft. Players 2/3/4 in split screen can create a character skin for themselves to use in the world, however upon save and exit of the world, players 2/3/4 skins are lost. When host loads the same world, with the same 2/3/4 players using the same PSN/Microsoft log in IDs joining the world they have already played, they load as Steve and not the skins they took 30-45 minutes creating for the world.
Minecraft allows you to explore worlds together with friends, even without an internet connection, using split screen on the Nintendo Switch. This feature is a fantastic way to share the adventure right from your couch.
A while back I got bedrock edition minecraft meaning I did not have access to editions. Recently I borrowed my friends copy of the old PS4 version and I was confused as to why I could still not play mini games BUT I did find a solution for people who are in a similar situation like me and got the old version after bedrock came out. This method works by playing with 2 controllers.
I used this and was able to get the editions button but you definitely do not need to deactivate your main account. At least I didn't. I was having problems because I deactivated. I reactivated, uninstalled everything, signed out of my main account, installed Minecraft with the PS4 Edition disk while signed in to another account and even though it displayed as if it was bedrock, when I loaded it up it was the PS4 edition. Started up editions, split screened with my main account and got everything except for the 2 and arrow kills so far.
I just used the PS4 edition disc method to get the editions button and I definitely had to deactivate my main (this) account to get it to work. Once I did that my dummy account had the editions button and I was able to do split screen public matches to get dlc 2&5 trophies. I only have 2 controllers, but was able self boost by using remote play as a third controller
Was looking at starting this soon. Will the PS4 digital version have this issue? I was under the impression that all the DLCs are free and I only need the base digital PS4 version to knock out the entire list plus stack 2.
All PS4 versions are affected by this glitch so it doesn't matter if you get it Digitally or at Retail, you're screwed either way because the devs inserted a kill switch into the code so the Editions button is removed for anyone who bought the game after the release of the Bedrock Edition Update.
Can someone help me? I bought a Java or old version of ps4 minecraft. We currently have the digital no editions installed. Do I want to Uninstall the digital version before using the disc in order to access Editions?
I deleted everything made a new user, then put in the disc. I never logged out of my other account as apparently you can be logged in multiple at the same time. When it ran the disc it then wanted to update and I said no, play without update. It showed the old ps3 or Java screen of minecraft yet no battles option. It also still wouldn't let me play online at all.
So I made a world and then played for 2 minutes then exited and the game forced it to save. Then I hit ok let's play online and it did its download for the update. This time it said welcome to the New Minecraft showed me some screens I hadn't seen before and asked if I wanted to convert the world I made 5 minutes before. I'm like no.
The main screen appeared in bedrock version and no editions button was there. Just to check it out I did load my world, let it update the world, and legit after the world opened it gave me the Passing The Time trophy for this alt account I made. So ridiculous.
How did you play as your main account to get trophies? If I re-add the main account with the digital download after I had deleted it off the ps4, it immediately removes the editions button from either user?
