I heard once that it was possible to unpark CPU cores and you could check them with recourse monitor, and I found parked cores! I use a core i7 3820 so I'm not sure if the parked cores are supposed to be parked cause they are just extra threads or what. And if it is safe to unpark the cores or if they are like that for a reason. Thanks,

CPU Parking is a low-power sleep state (C6) supported by most modern processors and operating systems. It dynamically disables CPU cores in an effort to conserve power when idle. Unfortunately, this power saving comes at a price: Latency when CPUs need unparked to execute code.

Empirical evidence shows that disabling CPU core parking can make a tangible improvement in system performance. There are many factors that will determine precisely how effective it will be for a given situation. However, generally, Windows is too aggressive in its core parking, resulting in high latency during bursting CPU loads, stemming from the overhead of having to unpark CPU cores. Since bursting CPU loads are the most common type for many workloads, core parking can be a substantial drag on system performance and responsiveness.

System.Environment.ProcessorCount shows me N Processors (N in my case = 8), which I want to make use of. Now the problem is, that the windows resourcemanager sais, that 4 of my CPU's are 'parked', and the 8 Threads i start just seperate up to the 4 unblocked CPUs.

When Windows "parks" a CPU core, it means that there is not enough work for that core to do so it puts that core in a low-power state. In order to "unpark" the CPU, you just have to create enough work.

If you are starting 8 threads and Windows isn't unparking the CPUs, the threads probably are doing I/O, blocking, or completing too quickly. If you post what your threads are doing, maybe somebody can explain why they're not running on the parked cores.

you have so many knobs and handles to turn on and off in both windows and Adrenalin. I see that LoL is an old game so could be the ULPS that is messing with you so that is a first - disable ULPS ! Next you need to make sure that your GFX card cannot go to 500 mhz ! Normally this is set from 500 - 2500 approx.

Next up is cpu. Windows really like to park the cores and not give you full throttle in some games - several unpark tools is out - go to bitsum.com and download parkcontrol and process laso - 2 really great products. Parkcontrol - here I have unparked all cpu's. Laso is great for change of cpu / proces prioritation. You can google those. Why have a great computer if you are limited in windows ?

By default, running arma3.exe in Normal priority and Windows Power Profile set to Balanced. With these settings, your CPU cores might be parked for power savings and only unparked once the game is demanding more processing power. This means your CPU has to react to the request and then raise its clockspeed. To give it a real-world example, it's like having a race car sit on the Start-line with its engine turned off, waiting for the light to change and start it immediately as the light turns green. It works, but wouldn't you rather be sitting there, revving the engine in anticipation, already?

So to solve this, I set arma3.exe process to High priority and whenever arma3.exe is running, I set the windows Power Profile to High Performance. This setting unparks all your cores and sets the CPU frequency to it's maximum possible. What Process Lasso does is just AUTOMATE THE PROCESS, so you don't have to do it manually every time.

Standard High Performance Plan doesn't fully unpark cores. Frequency scaling is disabled but most cores could still be parked. To fully disable this you have to edit the registry which is not the smartest thing you can do to your PC, laptop especially. I use ParkControl from Bitsum to easily adjust that when I need it, it's free and makes a big diffrence on my laptop in few games. I don't know if Process Lasso with ProBalance and Gaming Mode enabled and with high priority on game process will add much but it seems that it's also free now.

Warframe's multithreaded rendering option is specifically designed to drastically increase performance on multi-core machines, however if it's enabled and Warframe only has access to 1 physical (and/or logical) core due to the others being parked, then you will likely suffer some pretty severe performance issues (one user's PC was blue screening because the PC force shut down due to one of their cores overheating). To fix this, your cores need to be unparked.

had all my cores unparked but with value of 0 idk if that means anything ..zzzzzz..and yes i did registry tweak few years bk to unlock my turbo..i usually run around 20-40 fps with intel hd card since my nivida overheats my laptop

I'd still recommend unparking your CPU cores as it will allow a more even spread of processing by your CPU for multithreaded programs (lower heat consumption and better overall performance in games, not just Warframe).
