Friends and Dancers,

I am ready to get back to New Orleans. I have been on the east coast
since late July and news of the evacuation started a series of
emotional conversations with friends packing their belongings and
driving in heavy traffic out of the city. Some stayed, stocked with
food and water. Some couldn't leave; some wouldn't.

If you have never been to the birthplace of jazz, this is the year to
make your trip. Find out why people rebuild and live in New Orleans,
hurricane after hurricane----and why many see it as a mecca of culture
in the United States.
