Good afternoon!

I'm trying to figure out if this project is still active and, if so, if anyone might be able to help me to get started? I'd like to use this (or some variation) at the elementary school level, but my experience with hardware is limited and I'm not sure where to begin with the badges.  Does anyone have any that they might be willing to part with for a bit? Alternatively, as it's my understanding that most of the capabilities can be replicated on a modern smartphone, has anyone undertaken a port that I might test (or contribute to)?
