Boxing Day Fixtures

Whatever happened to the Boxing Day fixtures of past years when we
played against Colwyn Bay and then again on New year's Day (Were they
against Ruthin?) - just the job to get rid of the excesses.

Good question Meirion (Merry Christmas by the way!). I blame the
leagues; too many league matches and no time for friendlies these days.
And a reluctance on the part of players to play on a Boxing Day. Still
there's always the Ospreys game on TV this evening

And I can still remember Boxing Day in 1980 (I think). I'd been captain
after Stan Liptrot left (mid October) and hadnt won a single game until
we went to the Bay on Boxing Day and against the odds won!!!
My first ever win as captain!!

Should'nt there be a inner game within the club i,e presidents 15 v the
chairmans 15?? this would be a good way to bon the 1rsts, 2nds and
older youth players who will be stepping up to seniors together???

Good idea; mind you finding 30 sober, fit, players on a Boxing Day
might be a bit problematic!!!
