Rhyl started players short and without a front row but in an
entertaining match came close to upsetting Ruthin before the visitors
ran out victors. Ruthin went 17-0 up with 3 first half tries, then on
the stroke of halftime Mark Prime won a chase for a loose ball over the
try line with Erik Lloyd converting to make it 17-7.

In the second half Ruthin traded tries with Rhyl, old war horse Nick
Maxwell scoring following a scintillating break from Geezer Davies,
with Davies kicking the conversion. But a late try from Ruthin sealed
their victory.
