As
you're aware, there is currently a lack of opportunity for road racing
in North Wales and as a result of this, a handful of clubs and
individuals are eager to set up a mini
road race league in North Wales next year.
The
ball has begun rolling! A 9 mile loop by Denbigh has been identified
(used for many other races in the past) and so the next step will be to
find out which clubs want to
be invovled in its organisation. The loop has been chosen due to the
course previously been risk assessed and also the low amount of
marshalls required. The league will provide the perfect opportunity for
new race organisers to gain experience in organising
a road race and having the confidence to organise a race in their own
area the following season.
There
is a competition commission meeting coming up on the 16th of October at
Glasdir, Llanrwst (see email below). The road series will have its own
slot on the agenda and I
urge clubs and individuals to make every effort to attend should they
wish to be a part of the league; through clubs coming together and
working as a team, I am confident that we can get road racing back on
our roads once again.
Should
you wish to attend, please could you let me know by Monday 13th of
October. If you cannot make the meeting but would still like to help out
and be invovled, please let
me know. You might also have retired racers in your club that would be
eager to get involved again, please feel free to share this information
with them.
Kind regards
Ann Williams
