Friday Fun Sailing Series

Hi all!

We're starting a new fun sailing series this summer and  we're really excited about it.  The idea is to promote sailing and having fun on Friday nights throughout summer at the RHYC on C420 sailboats which are easy to sail two-person boats.  We would like to encourage female sailors, so are going to require that at least one person on each boat be a female.  We'll have power boats on the water for safety and light coaching.  The course will be easy and fun and we'll have alot of enjoyment after the races talking about what we did back in the club house!

 

Here's the schedule  (you don't need to be there every Friday):

- Race 1 first gun        June 5, 2009   6:30pm            RHYC

- Race 2 first gun        June 12, 2009 6:30pm            RHYC

- Race 3 first gun        July 10, 2009  6:30 pm           RHYC

- Race 4 first gun        July 17, 2009  6:30 pm           RHYC

- Race 5 first gun        July 31, 2009  6:30 pm           RHYC

- Race 6 first gun        Aug 14, 2009   6:30 pm           RHYC

- Race 7 first gun        Aug 28, 2009   6:30 pm           RHYC

- Race 8 first gun        Sep 11, 2009   6:30 pm           RHYC

- Fun Awards Ceremony   Sep 19, 2009   5:00 pm           RHYC Club House

 

See the attached NOR (Notice of Race) for all the details, but don't let the details bog you down, the idea is just to come out on Friday nights, set up the 420s and do some low-key racing. 

 

So, let's get this started right - the first Friday night is this coming Friday, June 5.  Get to the club anytime between 5 and 6pm.  We'd love to see all you ladies who've taken the For-Ladies-Only classes get out there and show us your stuff.  We'd also like to see club members and non-members of all ages out there using our RHYCSS C420 boats and having fun.  Don't worry if you need a crew or skipper, we'll find one for you!  Just give me a call or send an email and let me know you're coming, so we can reserve a boat for you!  610-247-1645

Friday Sailing Status:

We have 3 boats full and one lady willing to skipper or crew! It
would be just great to get all 6 of the C420s out there.

Hopefully we'll have better weather this Friday than last! Right now
the forecast is very good for Friday.

Please let me know if you would like to sail on Friday, you can either
call me at 610-247-1645 or email me to reserve a boat.

3 boats are filled already, and we're looking for a female crew /
skipper for a fourth boat. That means there are two open boats - so
call soon!
