申请学中文优秀学生奖学金

各位家长和同学：

 

提醒大家别忘了申请南加州中文学校联合会的优秀学生和大华优秀学生奖学金，具体信息请上网http://scccs.net/events/event36/Scholarship/ScholarshipMain.htm

 

按照申请标准，我们班有超过一半的同学够资格申请，遗憾地是，大多数学生家长不了解，或者说不关心申请优秀学生奖的事情。事实上，我们班有两位同学申请过优秀学生奖，并一次获得成功。根据以往的经验，奖学金申请并不难，过去几年里，我们学校几乎每年都有学生申请，并获得成功，中奖率有时甚至是百分之百。可惜重视申请的家长和学生不多，以至于我们错失了去年的大华优秀学生奖。

 

我们班是高年级班，大多数同学都很认真努力，值得鼓励。有些同学进入高中后可能无法继续中文学校的学习，所以，请家长把握这不多的机会，努力帮助同学争取获奖。我建议大家申请的时候，不妨同时申请两个奖，如果今年没成功，还有明年。只要申请，成功的希望还是很大的，但是如果不争取，永远没有获奖的可能。所以，为了更好地激励同学们学好中文，学生和家长还是应该为此努力一下。

Subject: Week 31 Announcements

Dear students,

We're down the home stretch!  This Saturday is our last day of class and next Saturday we'll have our school year closing ceremony.  Here're a few things to announce:

1. Teachers Jiang Lili and Wang Baosheng will have their last class tomorrow to make our last preparation for the May 20 SCCCS Spring Academic Contest group session in El Monte.

2. After our school's class level awards are done, a few of our outstanding students will compete for the SCCCS sponsored awards.  See attachements for details.  Our teachers will nominate and help student candidates to prepare necessary documents/portfolios.  Note that for the Da Hua award each school will need to submit at least three students to qualify.

3. Our tuition rates and registration form for school year 2012-2013 are updated and are available at http://www.riversidechinese.org/Pages/joinus.aspx.  Our new class schedule and school calendar will be updated soon.  The new school year will be on September 8, after the Labor Day weekend as usual.
