Hey guys, I found this while looking up a graffiti citation from the
city.

Hey Jesse,
Sorry it took so long to write about this. The data looks great, and could be pretty easy to get on a map using Rhus. The first thing you'll want to do is get the Rhus couchapp set up and import the data, and then it can be added as a layer (sub-project) in the mobile apps. You can get started on deploying the couchapp by following the instructions here: http://rhus.winterroot.net/index.php?title=Deployment_Step_by_Step

Also, I took a look at the data. In order to use this dataset you'll need to figure out what projection the coordinates are in, since they don't look like they are in the 'standard' latitude/longitude we are normally used it. It's pretty typical for government surveys to be in projected (onto a flat plane) coordinate systems like this, so I imagine that you can look back to wherever you got the data from and get some clues. If that doesn't work, you can also try loading the data into QGIS and playing around with different projections to see if you can get the trees to live up with where you know they are - very highly detailed accuracy probably isn't a huge need in this case, so even if you don't get the exact right coordinate system (there are many to choose from) you will probably be able to find something that works well enough to satisfy.

Write back as you have questions, or we can hash it out next time I'm around noisebridge.
