Hi all,

Women 2.0 partners with Startup Weekend once a year to co-host a roughly a 50% male,  50% female crowd for a 54-hour hackathon. This year, Women 2.0 Startup Weekend (Nov. 19-21 in Mountain View) is challenging attending teams to create a mobile app for women in the developing world, basically inviting people to create an app for the GSMA mWomen Mobile App Challenge.

Both men and women are invited to Women 2.0 Startup Weekend

(November 19 - 21 at Hacker Dojo in Mountain View, CA). W

e provide the co-working space and food for the weekend — and you bring the energy to build something big over the weekend.

Bring an idea, or just yourself to join a team and start a project or company over the weekend. Join a team and just hack/build for 54 hours! Startup Weekend is a place to test ideas, contribute to ideas, and meet potential founders. We are bringing together the most innovative, talented, and out-of-the-box entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. Check out what happened at last year's Women 2.0 Startup Weekend - we created 19 startups!

How it works: Ideas are pitched and teams formed on Friday night at 7pm. Over the weekend, companies develop products and/or services. Company pitches are delivered on Sunday at 5pm.

Speakers, mentors, and judges include: Mariya Genzel (Co-Founder  & CTO, SayHired), Shanna Tellerman (Founder & CEO, WildPockets), David Weekly (Founder & Chairman, PBworks), Megan Casey (Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Squidoo), Shannon McClenagh (S

enior Executive, Early Stage Companies),

Anna Billstrom (iOS Developer), Bess Ho (Mobile & UI Developer), and many more.

We will be awarding prizes including "Most Innovative", "Most Likely to Make a Million Dollars", and "Most Likely to Change a Million Lives" in accordance with the mWomen BoP Apps Challenge

Attendees are welcome to join Founder Friday led by Himani Amoli (Co-Founder, MicroMobs and StartupRoots) at 5pm on Friday, November 19.

Cheers,
Sarah
