First thing's first, We had a meeting on Last week discussing issues
surrounding sign-up and putting up posters to advertise the Youth
League,
and thus far, nothing has been done and this is totally unacceptable.
I have sent the people who were in charge of insuring that posters be
up by
Monday, the 15th, numerous emails and still nothing has been done. If
we
want the Youth League to be successful this year, this is not the way
of
going about things. As a BEC, it is of up most importance that each
and
everyone of us show commitment to this branch, and that means
attending
meetings when you are requested to do so. It is totally unacceptable
for
someone not to attend meetings without a valid reason and thereafter
expect
to emailed minutes of the meeting. Bureaucracy will not work in this
branch
as we need to be a united force which works together.
I felt that this needed to be commnunicated as some members of this
BEC are
very relaxed, and this revolution cannot be defended with a lazy
attitute.
This month marks the 20th anniversary of Mandela's release from
prison, and
as young revolutionaries, it is our responsibility to keep the legacy
of
Mandela alive and contribute to nation building.
I therefore request that we have a brief meeting tomorrow, during
lunch, @
1:30pm to address some of the issues listed in ths email.
I have collected the sign-up forms and every member of the BEC will be
expected to make sure that their form is returned being completed.
The meeting will take place at the Union seminar rroms, for those who
in
residence, please make sure you go to lunch at 1pm, in order for you
to be
on time for the meeting.
Regards, Chair.
