Hello everybody!

Progreso is still looking for candidates for our Bilingual Carpentry training starting in January.  We have an orientation next week.  Please, feel free to refer students or please post it in your agencies.  I have been looking for candidates and hosting orientations since July and we still need to find 10 more candidates.

Thank you for your help!!!

Hi Susan,

The Carpentry class is doing well.  It started in January and it ends in April.  I am not sure if it is going to be offered again, it all depends on the outcomes of this one and the available grants through WIA.

The qualifications are the following:

Be legal Resident or US Citizen

If male, be enrolled in Selective Service

Intermediate level (4th grade) of English reading and math (determined by a CASAS test)

Be unemployed or working part time.  If the candidate is working part time, he/she has to earn less than required certain amount depending on the family size.  I can e-mail you the table with the specifications.

There is a list of all of the WIA approved programs in RI on the netWORKri webpage.  I can e-mail you the website tomorrow.

Thanks!

Scarlett
