Hi,

I have added repos using the Admin -> Settings -> Rescan repositories
function. That seems to work quite well - so I am mostly happy :-)

The thing is that although the repos show in alphabetical order in the
Admin -> Repositories view, when I go to the "home" and browse the
list of repositories (I have them in groups) the repos are listed in
the order I added them (not alphabetical).

Seems like a bug to me - as I couldn't find any options to determine
sorting. I guess I could manually re-sort the tables in the database

The same thing happens when you add repos through the web interface.
So once I've created a few repos this is going to get rather
confusing.

Oh - I am using a MySQL db rather than SQLite - I guess that might be
a factor.

You haven't mentioned what version you're using, but I'll guess it's 1.2.3, and not the latest beta.  1.2.3 does not offer any type of sorting.  I think this was added for 1.3 by Marcin.

Yes I am using 1.2.3. Just evaluating at this stage, so as long as
this is coming in 1.3 that answers my question.

Thanks

They should be sorted alphabetically in 1.2.X releases-> see demo.rhodecode.org

Thanks for the quick reply Marcin. I can see the demo is working
correctly, but I get the problem on my own install of 1.2.3 using
MySQL 5.0.8 with Python 2.7 on Windows.

On my local install Repos show in the order they were added to the
Rhode Code database. Here's a screenshot of some repos in a group:

I checked 1.2.4 release notes but didn't see any mention of a change.

I get the same behavior. Sorting appears to work at the root level but not within groups/folders.

I went and checked demo.rhodecode.org again and see that it shows the
same behaviour for repos inside groups. The repos are sorted at the
top level, but not in groups/folders.

Have checked this again in 1.3.2 - still the same. Here is a group containing repos on the demo server:
  http://demo.rhodecode.org/xxx
As you can see the list of repos here is not sorted.

Hi,

next (1.3.3) release will have that fixed.

Have just upgraded and tested again - is working as expected in 1.3.3 - thank you very much.
