Fossil fuel giant Chase Bank is building 11 branches all around Rhode island. There will be three branches in Providence, two in Cranston, and one each in South Kingstown, East Greenwich, Smithfield, Pawtucket, Barrington, and Middletown. Two are open and one is very close____________________________
Chase Bank cares deeply about its reputation and its "brand", especially among young potential future customers, and every time we hold a protest, more and more people learn what a destructive corporation Chase Bank is as it pursues short-term profits at our planet's expense.

Until Chase stops funding new fossil fuel projects and starts phasing out the current funding, members of Climate Action RI (CARI) and supporters and allies, and other climate groups around the country, are protesting at Chase branches to tell our communities how destructive Chase is to our planet, to our future, and to the future of our children and grandchildren.
Chase is opening more branches: let us know if you will help us maintain a monthly protest presence at a branch near you.

We are accelerating Chase's change to funding renewables. Last week, Chase announced a $1 billion bond for sustainable and renewable projects only, which is an important first step. But they still lend over $65 billion a year for current and new fossil fuel projects.while the scientific community says that by 2030 fossil fuel usage must be REDUCED BY 45% from 2010 levels.

Providence Journal
Sept.23, 2020___________________________
And while the polar and Greenland ice-sheets melt, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) projects that Rhode Island will suffer 5 to 7 feet of sea-level rise in the next 50 years, over 9 feet by 2100, and 32 feet by 2200. Tens and possibly hundreds of millions of coastal residents, especially poor people of color living on islands or in Asia and Africa, will become homeless climate refugees in a destabilized world hostile to their situation.
At nine feet of sea-level rise, the ports of Galilee, Providence, and Quonset, our coastal wildlife refuges, virtually all of Wickford, downtown Providence, and various other places up and down Narragansett Bay and on our open Atlantic shore from Westerly to Little Compton and everything in between will be permanently inundated.
