This list was created roughly when Naomi Klein wrote This Changes Everything: Capitalism Vs. The Climate.

The Poor People's Campaign has identified five interlocking injustices:

1. Systemic racism;
2. Poverty and inequality;
3. The war economy and militarism;
4. Ecological devastation and denial of health care; and
   
5. The false narrative of religious nationalism.
   

That to me sounds like a pretty good approximation to "everything."

The list was created for a bus trip to New York City. We're looking for 25 people to fill a bus to DC. What could possibly beat a listserv consisting of experienced bus riders? Please send email to rhode...@poorpeoplescampaign.org if you like to join.

Peter, free bus ride to DC on Dec. 13, 2021

Peter, Congress is about to approve the yearly National Defense Authorization Act, spending more than 50% of the discretionary budget on the war economy and militarism. Meanwhile,  the pandemics of systemic racism, poverty, voter suppression and COVID-19 are still decimating the infrastructures of our daily lives and our democracy.  Congress must pass voting rights legislation and Build Back Better Act before the end of the year. If you are interested in joining a protest in Washington, DC, on this December 13, please let us know. If we get 25 people to join us, the Poor People's Campaign will provide a free ride to DC and back. COVID policy: you MUST be vaccinated and MUST wear a mask in the bus. The bus will probably leave after midnight at the start of December 13 and return roughly 24 hours later. Please help us all to get to DC to be part of the action!
