Board and Building Comm,

A few congregants have expressed the desire to have bike racks at the synagogue.  Daniel, through Ben & Jerry's, will donate these racks if we pick them up.  I know that AG anticipates the need to repair the sidewalk in front of the steps so placement of the bike racks needs to be thought through so it does not interfere with possible future sidewalk repairs. the grassy areas on the easy or west sides are possible locations if we open the fence on either side during use.  I don't think this is a big burden.  I generally like to preserve our grassy space on the east side so I recommend locating the racks, if we decide we want them, on the west side.

Recommendations:
1) Visit B&J to look at the racks and decide if we want them.
2) Place them inside the gates on the west side.
3) Notify AG we have done this.

Loredo,

I hope that your week is going well. I spoke with our facilities person, and Ruach Hamaquom can take the two unused bike racks at my office (or just one). They're at 30 Community Drive in South Burlington. Look for the Ben & Jerry's awning; they're just to the right. You'll need a pickup truck. I'm happy to help load the rack into the pickup if you tell me what time you're going to arrive and I'm at work. Let me know!

Great idea! Photos of the rack would probably be good enough, instead of traveling to waterbury.

We are beginning the discussion on project scheduling with the selected roofing contractor. The temporary staging will be positioned on east and west sides of the building.

Bike racks may be temporarily relocated from the west side to accomodate the staging when the project mobilization begins.

The west grass apron on the adjoining property owned by the bike shop may also be suitable and not require opening and closing the west side iron gate.

This is the picture.  I really like Rich's suggestion to put the rack(s) on the grass by the bike shop wall.  I think one rack is enough.  Thoughts or objections anyone?

I like the idea and I think it makes sense to start with one rack.

Thanks Shanna, Alan and I are thinking we can pick up the rack next week. RJan will check with the neighbors.

All good. I’ll see if I can get the grass mowed. But we have approval to put it on the grassy area.
