Hi Rahul,

This info and more is available in the "details" section of the download page at: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzruSBxuthmjOEcxTUF6X0NzQUE/edit

login: username

password: password

Another good suggestion there is to ssh into the box so that it's easier to interact (copy, paste, view plots, etc.)

Hi

I am new to Rhipe and followed the instructions given on the installation doc http://www.datadr.org/install.html

I downloaded the VM image which has everything installed. When I start it using VirtualBox the Rhipe VM is asking for ubuntu login credentials.

Can someone send me the credentials to login?

Thanks
Rahul

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the reply ( meant for Mr. rahul) . It was very useful. I am able to login but somehow rhinit() function is not working. I can include the library ( Rhipe)  which ask to run rhinit() but its not responding. I am also using virtualbox . Any suggestion please ?

Thanks
Rajhans

Hi Rajhans,

Actually things have changed quite a bit since then - I wouldn't recommend using that VM.  We are now using Vagrant, which makes it much easier to update things without uploading a large image every time.  Please see here:

and let me know if you have any questions.

when i type in this

$ R CMD INSTALL Rhipe_0.73.1.tar.gz

the error message is

** R
** inst
** preparing package for lazy loading
** help
*** installing help indices
** building package indices
** testing if installed package can be loaded
Rhipe requires HADOOP_HOME or HADOOP or HADOOP_BIN environment variable to be present
 $HADOOP/bin/hadoop or $HADOOP_BIN/hadoop should exist
Rhipe: HADOOP_BIN is missing, using $HADOOP/bin
HADOOP_HOME missing
HADOOP_CONF_DIR missing, you are probably going to have a problem running RHIPE.
HADOOP_CONF_DIR should be the location of the directory that contains the configuration files

------------------------------------------------
| Please call rhinit() else RHIPE will not run |

how can i set the hadoop  Environment variables for rhipe ?

i can't solve  this problem can anyone can help me ?????
