When trying to install RHIPE on Fedora 13, I get the following error:
http://pastebin.com/RqSz1fT6

I installed Google's Protocol Buffers (yum install protobuf*), but for
some reason I get asked during the RHIPE installation to update the
Protocol Buffer headers (whatever that means).

What version of protobuf was installed? RHIPE uses protobuffers verson 2.3.0
Try this
> protoc --version
libprotoc 2.3.0

You'll probably need to compile from source or use some other repo.

$ protoc --version
libprotoc 2.2.0

Thanks, I'll try to obtain version 2.3.0.

I compiled protobuf 2.3.0 from source, and now everything works. I
also had to set the environment variable PKG_CONFIG_PATH to /usr/local/
lib/pkgconfig before installing RHIPE.

By the way, are you using Ubuntu? If so, does Ubuntu have the current
version of protobuf? I'm asking because for various reasons I'm
considering to change the Linux distribution that I'm using.

Thanks.

Hello,

Tested on RHEL 5, FC 8 (EC2 instances) and I can't quite remember but
I think Ubuntu (or debian)
