Beentrying to connect my PC with Oculus quest 2 headset. Oculus link works and I am able to explore my model in Enscape. However, when connecting via Virtual desktop app, Enscape does not recognize the headset. It says "searching fot head-mounted display". I am still able to explore the model on a curved screen inside the headset, but not in VR environment like via Oculus link. I am using Archicad to run Enscape plugin.

As long as I'm not fully mistaken, Virtual Desktop is only being used for viewing everything in 2D so to speak, that's why you can still use non-VR applications just fine of course, but VR apps may/should not work.

There are also other free software solutions available to stream Enscape into the Oculus Quest 2 via the link cable, or even while using the Quest wirelessly, let me know if you require any further help with that.

The first thing why I want to work it wirelessly is clients' convenience, considering our office layout. Secondly, I hope that wireless stream will be of better quality, which might be false hope, of course.

It seems that this tech works exclusively with HTC headsets? It also seems to utilise its own ultra high frequency data transmission system. Do you know any other (possibly more simple) options which might work over standard 5 GHz wifi network? As we already bought Oculus we would be pleased to make it eventually work

We don't have practical experience with a lot of these solutions, so we're probably not the best contact to ask about this. If you manage to connect your Quest wirelessly to be recognized as a Steam-, WMR- or Oculus Headset, it should run with Enscape without further trouble.

I played around with different settings and this is what I found out. Virtual Desktop DOES support VR stream from Enscape directly into your Oculus Quest 2. What you need is to SIDELOAD Virtual Desktop via Sidequest after purchase and normal installation. You also need to activate developer mode in the Oculus menu and install the streamer app on your PC.

You might need to uninstall your Steam VR app from your PC, as it seems to conflict with the Enscape app while streaming. Overall, the solution works, however, the stream, and especially the popup menu above the left controller is glitchy and some movement modes are unavailable. You can still teleport using your light-beam under the right controller.

Would be really helpful if Enscape staff could figure this out, as VR simplicity is one your strengths. With competitors stepping up with real-time solutions at ever increasing levels of quality and functionality, it would to sad to see Enscape drop out of a leading position.

medmonds , thanks a lot for your feedback. I will discuss this with our developers accordingly, but there may not be a swift technical workaround available to avoid using sidequest. Usually, for streaming non-native content into the Quest wirelessly using sidequest is a must - Enscape may be no exception until Oculus officially adds their own support. Then it should also support Enscape VR wirelessly natively.

I am here to confirm the need for this smoother workflow between the Oculus Quest 2 and Enscape. This will be a major game-changer for a whole lot of us in the architecture industry.

We are already using Enscape VR with HTC Vive but it's always a hassle and almost always impractical to bring out of the office to clients due to the set up and all the cables.

Any work on this will be greatly appreciated and will add a whole lot of value to Enscape, surely.

Air Link gives people more options for accessing PC VR games on Quest 2. Oculus Link cables will still provide a robust and consistent experience, while those with a strong WiFi setup can choose to stream wirelessly through Air Link. If you want to charge your headset during your VR exploits, experience the highest-fidelity visuals possible, or if your available WiFi network is congested or unsecured, Link via USB-C cable is the way to go. If you have a strong and secure WiFi network and if your playspace is ideally within roughly 20 feet of your WiFi router, Air Link will be a good option.

I will forward your feedback gladly - At the moment though, it may rather be related to how Oculus set up their systems and how especially the wireless mode is still something which is kind of in a "Beta" mode, and it's also not officially supported by Oculus yet in any case. Still, I am sure both we and Oculus will improve the usability more and more with time, no question.

I recently got an Oculus Quest 2, and am trying to get it to work with XP11. I have been using this video attached as a guide. However, I run into an issue with the virtual desktop. I am able to open it when connecting the Link cable, but the controllers cannot click on anything on it.

To see what I mean, go to 00:58 in the video, where the guy starts to click on the floating desktop window. I am seeing basically the same thing, but no matter which buttons I click, there is no response.

I have a Quest 2 and works ok in xp-11 and xp-12. I am not a computer expert, only making suggestions to see if they help. First be sure you have updated the quest via metaquest/facebook account. I have my headset up and active, making sure the Oculus icon is up, that your controlers are active (must be connected to internet to activate). I then take headset off and start x-plane. Once i have game where i am in plane then verify headset still active and the go to VR tab on settings and click on VR. then put headset on and you should be at the reader board to start game. This is not perfect instructions but hope it helps. (i often get note about steam VR and have to be sure that is shut off)

I've never seen that window before.. There's no need for you to open that. I do not have time to watch the rest of the video but they seem to want to everything through the headset. I suggest not doing that.

Sorry for the second reply, but I have run into another issue. I cannot seem to click anything in the menu. When I have the hangar open, I can hover over buttons in the settings but cannot click them. It does work if I enable VR mouse cursor though.

Can anyone help i have oculus quest2 have it for about2 years working great in xplane 11, suddenly it wont connect the VR enable is greyed i have tried a lot of things example un installing and reparing oculus app, unplugging the cable link, even though it show that is connected and shows that is working fine. it works fine with xplane 12 but not with xplane 11 can someone help me???

It seems this method forces Intel(R) UHD Graphics to render for OVRServer_x64.exe. At least, that's what's selected under "Power Saving" for my PC. My games still run fine using this method, since they still use the GPU. The dashboard/OVRServer doesn't utilize the GPU while in use. Changing the preferred processor in Nvidia Control panel for OVRServer_x64.exe does NOT solve the issue, although I thought it would effectively accomplish the same thing.

Oculus app isn't showing desktop, just black screen. Though, I can still control the cursor with my controller. I have a Rift S and a Quest 2 and both have the issue. So far, I've restarted, repaired install, and installed latest graphics card drivers but have had no success. I also completely uninstalled and re-installed and am still having the issue. Currently blaming the recent update. My Quest 2 is running on v. 27, because v. 28 is not yet available to me. But I doubt that's issue because my Rift S also has the problem.
