Dear Friends,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PUBLIC MEETING FOR OSBORNE BRIDGE REHAB PROJECT
You probably know that the Osborne Bridge will be reconstructed over the next two
construction seasons. There will be a community meeting on Dec 16th to present details
of the bridge design and roadworks to the public.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an update regarding the selected bridge
 deck configuration, public art, Active Transportation improvements, construction
schedule, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design(CPTED) measures under the
bridge, and traffic management during construction.
WHERE: Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue
WHEN: Thursday, December 16th, 4 - 8 pm
For more information please see the recent Osborne Bridge newsletter. You can view
it at the following link:
DOWNTOWN LIBRARY SIDEWALK STUDY TO GO FORWARD
I was pleased to learn that following my motion  from the Downtown Standing Committee
public works has found money to study implementation of sidewalks on both sides
of the Downtown Library. This project would have a very positive impact on the walkability,accessibility
and overall pedestrian environment in our downtown. The library sees over a million
visitors per year, and with the park being redeveloped, it makes even more sense
 to correct this longstanding deficiency.
Thank you for your interest in Civic Issues!
Cheers!
Jenny
