Hi,
Some of you may have seen the item below in the Bike to the Future July newsletter. I am resending it for two reasons:
1. To highlight this item for you, as it is very locally relevant. Sherbrook/Maryland are an important spine for the West End and the River Heights/Corydon area. The community committee recommendation, although positive, still isn't final, and if you feel strongly about keeping a bike lane on Sherbrook, you should voice your opinion.
2. To point out that there should a correction to the clerk's contact info. If you do plan to register to say a few words because a safer north-south connection to the Health Sciences Centre / West End is important to you, simply call Joanne Park at 986-3732.
Regards,
Anders
Sherbrook Street Bike Lane
One more hurtle ...
The Standing Policy Committee on Infrastructure Renewal and Public Works meeting on Tuesday July 13th at 10:30 AM will be reviewing the motion to remove the stretch of Sherbrook Street between Ellice Ave and Cumberland Ave from the city’s Active Transportation Network. (Agenda item #10). Although the City Centre Community Committee defeated this motion, it is important that the Standing Policy Committee on Infrastructure Renewal and Public Works also shows support for the active transportation on Sherbrook.
Please show your support for the bike lane on Sherbrook by emailing the City Clerk** with your comments, or by registering to speak at the meeting.**
**CORRECTION: to register call Joanne Park at the city clerk's office, 986-3732.
