TLDR : Can anyone guide on making custom sieve/filter for (videos and photos) in Imagus hover zoom extension? Relevant stackOverflow link. Relevant documentation which does not help much.
This javascript function parses the JSON file and returns an array where the first element is the link and the second is the caption text displayed under the hoverzoomed image.If you return just a link then the caption will be the alt text of the link.
Indeed, in 2014, Anashkin forked the original Hover Zoom, an extension for zooming in on images, because the developer transferred ownership, and whoever took control of the code base turned it toward data gathering. That original add-on has now been removed from the Chrome store.
Steps to reproduce:
After installing the Imagus extension, hover your cursor over links to various media sources. The loading icon will appear, but the media never loads. There are rare times where media will load, but I haven't found any rhyme or reason to it. All I know is it has nothing to do with the image source.
rtroavngr I'm also reluctant to try hover zoom since it doesn't have enough users to qualify for regular security scans. The only other alternative I've found is some userscript (Mouseover Popup Image Viewer) which I can't bring myself to trust, either.
I'm also running into this issue (macOS 12.6, intel i7) and it's sort of preventing me from really being able to enjoy the browser, HoverZoom+ is also not working as I'd expect it to either (and isn't a great replacement anyway). This is the error I'm getting in the console log when hovering on a title on reddit (same as the OP screenshot, weirdly it does sometimes seem to work hovering on the thumbnail or blue link text, though only for images not videos), I've enquired on the extension subreddit but didn't really get any helpful replies

This will be done automatically without delays. 1-Yes, the zooming starts as soon as you hover over the product image. If you are not getting this, then some conflict may be happening in your site. Do you have any third party plugins installed? Please deactivate all and try again.
I tested the thumbnail image click on chrome and on ipad. It works fine. Try to disable any chrome extension and clean the browser cache. Let us know it if happens again, and help me replicate your situation.
This extension shows a popup with an image preview when hovering over link that points to an image file or a page with an image. Move the cursor and hover over a link to the image, then the popup will be appear. Hover out the link or click the popup, then it disappears.
