Hi,
I am asking this question for a very specific reason. We've always done all of our testing on EC2 Hadoop clusters provisioned with Apache whirr. whirr also offered a remote scripting facility to install rmr2 & deps. It's more than a rumor that whirr will be soon moved to the attic. Its PMC said so! It has also stopped working for us since CDH5. This is a problem for RHadoop. We really loved having a single way to test on multiple platforms via simple configuration changes. Does anyone deploy rmr2 to an EC2 cluster? How do you do it? Thanks!
