Hi,

I have installed all the necessary components of R on the Hortonworks sandbox environment.  The only problem is when I attempt to install the rmr2 package:

sudo R CMD INSTALL rmr2_2.3.0.tar.gz
Error in getOctD(x, offset, len) : invalid octal digit

Is anyone familiar with this error type and how to resolve it?

-Thanks,
Marc

That happens when the download was unsuccessful. To verify, try to extract the archive with

tar xvzf rmr2_2.3.0.tar.gz

That should fail as well. Then retrying the download is your only option. Otherwise you can just use the extracted contents for your install, but that's unlikely.
