Hi,

I am trying to install RHadoop. I already worked with Hadoop pseudodistributed and real distributed, but RHadoop is new for me.
I read at the internet that is necessary to install MapR to install RHadoop. Is it true or I just need to install RHadoop to run R programs?

Thanks in advance.
Felipe

You need some recent Hadoop distribution, be it mapR, HDP, CDH and it's documented on our wiki. While the internet as a whole has a mixed record for reliable information, google is a somewhat more trustworthy source. If you search RHadoop installation the first match is a good start.

Thanks for reply Antonio,

I tryed to install mapR but got stuck because I have only one machine with 4G of RAM and 2 machines with 2G of RAM, and the documentation says I need 4G of RAM at minimum. Do you recomend to me CDH (Cloudera) ?

I don't have any particular advice from this point of view (that is, I use CDH a lot but I have a lot more memory than you do most of the times). Not sure if there is one distro that is less memory hungry. With the appropriate configuration you may be able to run any of them.
