[Rio Grande Valley Zeitgeist Movement]

Greetings friends,

The upcoming Zeitgeist Media Festival global event is happening soon. As you may know, this event is designed to be a community gathering that uses the power of the arts to articulate our message of making the world a better place for all people. There has been some interest expressed in holding an event here in the Rio Grande Valley. We have many talented artists in our group, and we would invite all of them to help plan and participate in our first Media Festival on the weekend of August 3rd. One aspect of many of the larger events is working with local charitable food banks to encourage non perishable food items to help those most in need in our local community. I would like to work with such organizations in our area, such as Food Not Bombs and the RGV Food Bank. If you know any artists who might be willing to donate their time, their talents and their passion to such an event, please encourage them to join us in this endeavor. We have had some communication with the organizers of the Music After Hours program to help seek out other artists and performers, and hopefully we can produce a well rounded and quality event.

If there is sufficient interest, I would like to schedule some planning meetings to get moving. We will need to choose a location, a date, schedule performers and work out any donation logistics with the local charity organizations. Please respond with suggestions for a meeting date, time and place that is convenient for you. I look forward to being active once again in our efforts to help make the world a better place for all people, and I hope to hear from you soon!
