A greeting to all new members

Greetings friends,

I would like to take this time to thank those of you who have recently
joined our chapter and our movement. Today, January 15, 2011 is a
significant day for the global movement, as it was the premiere of the
latest in a series of films that dared to make people question and
think about the world around us and to examine the foundational ideas,
attitudes and values that shape our society. It also happened to be
the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., a social justice and civil
rights leader during his time on our planet. I can't imagine what he
would think about the world today in general or our movement in
particular. But I do imagine that he would still be working towards
making the world a better place for all people if he were alive today,
and I would like to think that in some small way, we are joining in
that effort decades after he was taken away from us. I hope you find
among our current members new and lifelong friends in our shared
journey towards a new society with relevant values and a desire to
help all people reach their full potential. I am so very glad to have
you with us and look forward to our future meetings, events and
efforts. Thank you for your time and attention.
