Local Occupy movement invitation and RGVZGM update

[Zeitgeist Movement RGV]

Greetings friends,

I wanted to forward this invitation to the upcoming Occupy McAllen General Assembly meeting taking place tomorrow evening at Archer Park. This is an awareness activism opportunity of a unique nature. This growing movement of people across the country and around the world are in need of support and information. The local Occupy movement is beginning to branch out into other activities such as developing local food sources and encouraging local artists to collaborate on upcoming events that are synergistic with out goals. These are very exciting and encouraging times and I hope we all take advantage of this moment to help move society forward.

In addition, Armando Lopez has informed me that we have renewed the STC student organization's paperwork and we can now once again have our meetings and events hosted at the STC campus. Thanks to Armando and all the students who helped to make this possible. I propose that we once again hold public screenings of Zeitgeist Moving Forward and invite the local Occupy movement to view it.

Do you want to help shape this movement? Then come to our next General Assembly!

Tomorrow, Wednesday October 19th Occupy McAllen will have our third General Assembly. All are welcome to attend the GA, where each participant will be given the opportunity to voice their opinion, make proposals, and help shape the direction of this movement. We know that we don't have all of the answers, but the more people who join this discussion, the closer we get to the solutions we need to an economy and political system plagued with inequality.

The GA will take place from 6pm-8pm at Archer Park in McAllen.
