I am writing to let you all know about an exciting series of planning meetings focused on Lawrence's North Canal.
The North Canal used to be the heart of the City of Lawrence. We are seeking input from the community on ways to improve the area's parks, the streets, and the canal in order to make this a great place for all of Lawrence.
Come and participate in the collaborative placemaking process and help to creat a vision for improving the neighborhood, share your opinions, ideas and skills at the public workshop.
The dates of the events are:
Saturday, April 14th from 10am - 2 pm and Monday April 23rd from 5:30 - 8:30pm at Union Crossing (50 Canal St.).
The first meeting will focus on walking around the canal and identifying places that we would like to see improved or changed. During the second meeting we will be talking more specifically about what we would like to see and how we are going to get it done.
Food, Childcare, and a tour of the canal will be provided so bring your walking shoes and please RSVP to me (Spencer Buchholz sbuc...@lcworks.org or 978-722-2610) and let us know if you are planning on attending.

Escribo para informárselo sobre una series de reuniones enfocado en mejorando el distrito de la zona del Canal Norte de Lawrence.
El Distrito Histórico de la zona del Canal Norte era el corazón de Lawrence. Buscamos la opinión de la comunidad en la manera de cómo mejorar los parques del área, las calles, y el canal con el propósito de hacer este lugar perfecto para todo Lawrence.
Ven y participen en el proceso de colaboración "placemaking" y ayude a crear una visión para mejorar el vecindario, comparta sus opiniones, ideas y conocimientos en el taller público.
Las fechas para estos eventos son:
Sábado 14 de abril de 10 am - 2pm y lunes 23 de abril de 5:30pm - 8:30pm en el edificio de Union Crossing 50 de la calle Canal.
El enfoque de la primera reunión será caminar por el Canal e identificar lugares que queremos mejorar. El segundo enfocaremos más en que proyectos podemos hacer y cómo hacerlos.
