Found a 25.4 fl. oz. bottle of Brother Thelonious Belgian Style Abbey Ale at an Albertson's liquor store, of all places, and decided to try it out.

http://www.northcoastbrewing.com/beer-brotherThelonious.htm9.4% ABV, wire cage and cork bottle top made it fun to open. Fortunately no gyser was encountered in the opening. :^)
The stuff has a nice deep ruby red, dark caramel color, real good tan head that lasts for a long time, great lacing on the glass. Smell reminded me of some of the real good beers I ran across in southern Europe back in the mid to late 1970's with my USN career. Nice crisp clean smell with very good hops and barley tones, makes you want to take a good taste. Taste has caramel undertones, nice hops balance but a bit above average in bitterness.
Everything about this brew invited a taste and was not dissapointing. The bottle cost $7.99 USD so it is a bit expensive, but well worth the cost. Besides, the riverboat casinos on the Red River paid for it.:^D
