Hi All!

I'm having difficulty with regenerating rgbd/depth correspondence for both Mac and PC. The program crashes every time I try this stage of the process. Any ideas on what might be the issue?

Hey Fiona!
Which sensor are you using?

I have also tried the kinect model 1414 for calibration, but this progam still crashes.

Any ideas?

Hi Fiona,

Can you send a screenshot of the Calibrate Lenses tab and Correspondence tab? Perhaps there is something there that can help us diagnose the issue.

Also make sure the data/ folder is still next to the application.

Hope we can figure out what's up!

Hi James,

Here is step by step images from Calibrating Lenses to Correspondence.

Hope this helps!

Hey Fiona,

I see! it's crashing because you are not uncovering the infrared Laser Projector when you take the depth sample - see how the far left row is all blank? those should have depth images in them.

YES! That was the issue - it is working away now. Thank you so much for your help!!!!

However, when I bring my footage into the Visualiser Application the footage does not appear on the display window.

Might there be any issues with the footage or something else?

You may have to transcode the footage. One way to test is to try it with the demo video and see if that works.
If you have to transcode, MJPEG is good.

Yes, I had seen that this might have been the issue as in a previous post, so I have made sure that it is properly transcoded. I tested it on the example media provided and it works there.

I suspect it may have something to do with the MediaBin folder structure. I think I am missing some files from the calibration when I compare it to the example media bin and prepare the folder like in the tutorial on the RGBD Toolkit Website.

Hey Fiona,

The calibration you upload is empty unfortunately! It should have a matrices/ folder full of yml files containing the camera calibrations.

When you re-open the capture app do you see all the calibration stuff from before when you did a successful calibration? If so, what is the working folder path at the top of the app? Do they coincide with what you uploaded?

Let us know, happy to keep debugging.

Yes! I reinstalled the DepthKit applications again (this time not touching the folder structure), assigned the proper directory and Captured successfully to the Visualize Application. Woohoo!

However, with every hurdle there is another one to jump. The Visualise Application is not running the sequence accurately, and will not render out the PNG or OBJ sequences. I ran the example footage and it works fine, using the same settings on our capture in the Visualise application it does not render.

Any ideas on what might be going on?

Hey Fiona,

Do you have in and out points set by adding camera key frames where you want the render to cover?

I think you may have multiple time alignment points set also. Delete the pairings.xml in the scene folder and make sure to just hit "set color depth time" once.

I just tried set in and out camera keys, but the application gets buggy and the timeline scrubber stops working. When I delete the pairings.xml file before rendering it reappears after.

There are still no renders of PNG or OBJ files - only item produced from the render is a _depthProperties.xml file?

It may be because you have many export modes chosen: obj, combined per pixel and obj textures.

Yes this is why. Please create separate compositions for each export format you'd like to create.

Thanks James and Alexander - we got it working! The DepthKitVisualiser wasn't allowing us to keyframe the camera out point on the PC version. Tried it on Mac and it worked. Thanks again - your support has been unbelievable.
